Dolcemare Resort

Where to start? Dolcemare is just a beautiful place to be. The gardens are delightful, the pool is perfect(easy access from our room was such a treat) the staff are welcoming, friendly and so helpful and the decor and little touches delightful and surprise the more you look. It was such a peaceful, secluded and very private stay. It is an easy stroll to the sunset beach, the harbour isn't far and you can easily walk to swim with the turtles, as we did 4 times!. Hire a bike and ride around the island, and across the island. It is easier inland, pushing is needed in parts because of soft sand. But all good fun. The food is outstanding. The breakfasts are delicious with a lot of choice and the menu for the evening meal is so good. All in all, such a memorable place to stay. We loved it.

I loved the crepes and fresh fruit iced coffee at breakfast. Beautiful sunsets a short stroll away. The pool was amazing and lovely people. Great restaurant for a nice quiet dinner.

Fantastic staff, fabulous food, great resort in an idyllic location .

That I had to leave !

The staff was really helpful, we arrived directly at the beach with a private boat but it rained the day before so the road that goes to the hotel was floated, they help us carry our luggage to the hotel. It is very close to the beach, can be also a disadvantage .. The pool is big and there is not a lot of room, so you kind have privacy.

To be honest I don’t understand the rating of this hotel above 9.5 especially for the price, maybe we had just a bad experience but few points explaining our dissatisfaction. The pictures provided shows bright rooms, it is the opposite it is very dark with 4 small spotlight in the 4 corners of the room. On many reviews I read it was a quiet stay, however the first night we couldn’t sleep before 3/4am because of the noise of beach club which are 100m from the hotel, obviously this is not hotel’s fault but to be considered while booking. Bed is not really comfortable, only have high pillow, plus it smells humidity everywhere, it is built like traditional houses so the isolation is super bad. Room was not clean at all as per some reviews, we are in room number 4 and the toilet had still trace of urine when we checked in, when you walked in the room with barefoot for few minutes all the dust was under your feet. We stayed more than 2 weeks in Bali and Gili Islands and it was our worse stay, especially for the price, it was a 5/10 to compared to our previous stay in Gili Trawangan.
