Whistler's Inn

The staff was very friendly. Good breakfast. Fabulous towels. Comfy bed. Large room. Location superb:Quiet, shaded side road and parling with easy walk to tiwn.

We stayed in the Africa room and while it was large, the stairs to access the room were crazy steep and narrow. Bathroom needs to be updated. A little musty.

The beauty of the preserved house was magical. I also sat outside for a bit in the morning. the garden was lovely. I liked meeting some of the guests at breakfast. I also appreciated being assisted when I arrived unexpectedly late in the evening.

Beautiful inn. I really liked Lisa, her mother, and sister.

The location is ideal and very quiet, and the main house has a good deal of charm. Although a bit disorganized, the breakfast was also quite good.

There’s a long list. It began with the manager who disappeared during prime check-in time, not even answering the phone given as a contact — the result being that we only got into our room well over an hour after we arrived. And the room — in a separate building (a former barn?) and shabby at best. Dangerous at worst (missing smoke detector). Everything from loose floor tiles to haphazard construction to random styles of decor (in spite of some potentially nice antiques). The door wouldn’t fully close, so impossible to lock. The blinds were in poor condition and didn’t fit. A window repaired with tape and sitting crooked in its frame. An ancient coffee maker with the wrong size filters and a jar of instant coffee. Thin, mismatched towels and toilet paper so thin you could see through it. And zero wi-fi connection. Nothing on the property would pass accessibility standards by any stretch. Comparing notes at breakfast, it is likely that this isn’t the only substandard room on offer.
