Beautiful old priory circa 1500, very tastefully decorated…we stayed in Brother Claude’s room which was very spacious, cosy(as it was very cold in Valence) with an extremely comfortable bed & large bathroom….off street parking was a bonus & dog friendly. Definitely stay again.

A memorable stay in a historic building like a chateau.

We loved the historic atmosphere, the lovely classical furnishings, and the spacious rooms.

The right side bedside lamp had an electrical short in the cord. Our GPS had trouble finding it.

Perfect, exceptional, restful, welcoming and i would highly recommend this property

The property exceeded my expectations on every level! The rooms were amazing, beds divine, amenities generous, the view superb and the breakfast delicious. The owners were extremely hospitable and kind and the location was very special.

Finding it was took a bit of work so maybe photos of the street turns and front gate could help. Once inside it’s spectacular

We liked our stay at Maison de La Pra. Some simple measures might improve quality significantly

The location is in the centre of the old city. A parkingplace was available on request. A big room. Wifi was available. The airco was working properly. Breakfast was OK.

The shower in the bath might get a splashscreen and a higher point to attach the handshower. Then you could have a proper shower. A holding bar is lacking; this is unsafe. The bed had a harder matress than our liking.

Lovely old structure well worth the stay.

Located in the old town, this 500 year old property was an interesting place in which to stay. Easy to find once you've been around the block.(the sat nav will take you to the wrong end of the street sometimes). The rooms are accessed via a lovely spiral staircase and once there, the bedrooms are quiet comfortable with solid walls and wooden beams and a room key to surprise.. Our room overlooked an outdoor swimming pool/sun lounge area but at the time of our stay ,was not yet in use. Parking was inside the courtyard but access was tight. I managed to touch and take off a layer of paint from the side panel. The recommended 'curry house' just around the corner was very disappointing and I could not support a recommendation there. Many other choices are available but not tried by ourselves. Breakfast was very well presented but when not selecting meat or cheeses there was just a typical continental selection left. Our stay was a one night, break in the long journey south. however the B&B was more than that. Not so accessible from or to the motorway but once there left you wanting to discover much more of Valence.

Maybe a little more customer care attitude than was shown to us.

Atmospheric and huge room, coffee and tea tray with complimentary water in the room. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Safe parking and great location.

Separate toilet room from the shower and sink room so not very hygienic, pillows very thick so ended up sleeping without them, mattress medium, would have preffered a harder mattress. Difficult to find on arrival. No safe or fridge in the room.

A bit pricey for what you get but it’s an experience and fun to walk to the historic district easily .

It’s an old chateau once old by nobility now the descendants own it and are trying to conserve it. It needs lots of repair and renovation. Bed was comfortable , bath was wonderful . It’s in the historic district and walkable to shops and restaurants.

They really skimped on amenities. It seems they must need money to pay for the upkeep and renovations so besides a comfy bed and the experience of staying in an old chateau don’t expect a refrigerator or any high end toiletries or snacks et boissons.

Beautiful atmospheric old house

Beautiful and atmospheric old building, like staying in a castle. Huge bedroom, large bathroom.

Shower a little idiosyncratic and ended up drenching the bathroom. Stock of tea and coffee in room ran out after one day and not replaced, and nobody around to ask for more. But these are minor quibbles
