The perfect hotel for a long weekend in Lille.

Hôtel Saint Maurice is the perfect choice for a long weekend in Lille. When we arrived the staff were very friendly, the room was very clean and tidy and nice and warm (we had full control of the radiator so could set the temperature to our preference). When checking out we made use of their luggage storage room which is free as we had a late train home. The location is perfect, very central but not noisy. Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lille.

Pleasant stay in city centre.

Location. Friendly and obliging staff. Room basic but comfortable. Lovely view out to St Maurice Church. Very easy to get into the city centre of Lille.

Tea and coffee making facilities would have been useful. A hotel lounge or seating area would have been a plus on wet days - of which there were several!

We will never be going to Lille again.

The man on reception was extremely helpful, and should be commended in his help in the situation we found ourselves in. We did not stay after arriving at 10.30pm, as explained in what we did not like. The reason for the visit was to go to the Christmas market, the next day.

We arrived at the hotel at 10.30pm, after a 500 mile plus drive. (The one way system was a nightmare.) We were told to park in the multi story municipal car park about 300 yards from the hotel, as we got out of the car there was a stench of urine, and drug paraphernalia on the floor. We got our overnight stuff and proceeded to the lift, as the lift opened, three young lads were doing a drugs deal in the lift. They got out and we got in, before we could get the doors shut they got back in, and the lift was not very big. Feeling endangered, my wife got out and I followed, with the three youths shouting racist's at us until the lift doors shut. We went down the car ramps and proceeded to the hotel, and went to our room. My wife was so upset and concerned for our car being in one piece in the morning, we decided to leave. We went down to reception, and told the man on reception that we intended to leave, due to the situation. We were so scared of being robbed as we went back to the car park we left all our money and bank cards in the hotel reception locked in a case, and just took enough change to pay for the car park and the car keys. We walked up the ramp to the car park and we could hear male youths shouting in the car park, so we went back to the hotel. The receptionist at the hotel called the car park security, they cleared the car park and we went and collected our car, went back to the hotel to retrieve our case and left Lille. We never intend to go back there ever again, as we do not consider it to be a safe place to travel to, especially at night.

Great hotel near the train station and the fabulous city. Staff were helpful at check-in. My room was a good size with clean modern bathroom. Some might see the place as dated but it's a traditional old French hotel with little frills but great for the prize.

The staff at the hotel spoke good English and were both friendly and helpful.

Good location: vibrant area served by buses, metro and a short walk from the Eurostar station. Euro Lille (Westfield Shopping Centre) next door. Breakfast at the hotel was good a variety on offer. Would use this hotel again if I returned to Lille.

Value for money but not as relaxing as we had hoped.

The view from the room and location was lovely. The staff were pleasant and the hotel was easy to access.

The actual hotel and room were not a place that prioritised comfortability. The walls were paper thin and the room next to us were very disruptive at 3am in the morning. The pillows and actual bed didn’t help the bad night’s sleep either. 5 floors to the hotel and we had two other rooms in our tiny section, both full. It felt like they were in the room with us, no privacy at all. Ear plugs should be provided for all rooms.

Stayed in Comfort room overlooking the cathedral- great location to walk from train station. In the room bed was comfortable, bathroom had been recently refurbished and was very clean and modern. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.

The location was great and the bed was comfortable. It was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. There is a lovely bakery next door so we didn't try the breakfast from the hotel but they do offer it.

Good hotel for a short stay if you are planning on staying out at night.

The location of the hotel is great. A short walk away from Gare de Lille Flandres. A lovely view of the church in front. The staff were very friendly and almost always available. Close options for car parking at discounted rate at a parking lot nearby.

There was a strange smell throughout the building, almost like mould/damp. The bathrooms were definitely put together as an afterthought. The bed pillows are not the most comfortable in the world. Noise travels very easy in this building. Also, not much noise isolation from outside.
