House by the Harbour - NC500 Route

Poor entrance A little scruffy - needs a compete decoration Bathroom on different floor to bedrooms

The house was conveniently located and easy to find. We parked right outside the door. The spiral staircase by the front door was lovely, and the house was reasonably spacious with a seating area downstairs and on the 1st floor.

We struggled to get the key safe open when we arrived, I thought we were going to have to call for help! The house is narrow and therefore quite gloomy, the lighting could have been better. The bedrooms are on the second floor and the bathroom on the first, thankfully there was a lamp on the first floor landing that we left on in case we needed to get up in the night. The bed was the only one we've had in Scotland not to give us an extra blanket or cover of some sort, & I was quite cold. The kitchen was equipped with oven, microwave, kettle etc but very little in terms of dishes to put in the oven. The house felt tired with tatty paintwork and mismatched crockery etc. That said, the price we paid possibly reflects that.

Bedrooms were very good

Garden was grim and very unkemp The lighting in the kitchen was rather dim Lack of cutlery especially knives

Nothing!!

Damp EVERYWHERE! Cold, lifeless and sad. I had to personally defrost the tiny freezer upon arrival. I luckily took a before video and a video upon leaving for proof. 15 thugs banged on the doors an windows to intimidate us (single mum and two kids) and owner didn’t care, never replied and every message is automatically generated. Have no idea why they have a high score unless they’ve made them up themselves. Two flights of steep steps to the garden. Slugs coming into the kitchen from the damp rotten back door. Town is dead. People weren’t very friendly and it was definitely over priced.
