La Héraudière Bed & Breakfast

If you are looking for an authentic French accommodation experience, look no further. This is the perfect place to stay. The house has been beautifully renovated while preserving its traditional charm and character. The piano in the living room was a real highlight for my daughter. Although she plays the guitar rather than the piano, the hosts were kind enough to let her try it and practice a song. The garden is spacious and inviting, with areas where you can enjoy your morning coffee, relax in the sun, or unwind beneath the tall, mature trees that provide plenty of shade and coolness on hot days. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they keep beehives and produce their own honey. Breakfast was wonderfully French. The croissants were delicious, and the homemade jam and honey were absolutely fabulous. The host also thoughtfully asked whether we would prefer something savory and served a selection of cheeses and cold cuts. I highly recommend this accommodation, especially if you are planning to visit the castles of the Loire Valley.

Our bedroom was very large quality furnishings and a very comfortable firm bed. The bathroom was really excellent and large with great showers. There was off street parking and breakfast was good. We caught the tram into the centre of the city which was very easy.

Dominique and Virginia were attentive, the rooms were very clean and had everything you needed. The property is very charming indeed and the personal touch was really good. It has lovely amenities for children including an outdoor playground. We also had a very lovely evening in Tours in the old town following recommendations.

It was a real problem for us that there is was no lock on our room, especially with two children. I did not feel safe. The front door of the property locked but not our room and anyone could walk in, naturally we had no idea who the other guests were. When I asked I was told it was an old system but a simple bolt lock would have been something at least. Breakfast was very personal but limited to one croissant (along with bread) which for the price I feel may have been extended.
