Everything! Rayavadee is an exceptional slice of paradise in a gorgeous location surrounded by nature and wildlife. There are 3 beaches on the perimeter of the property. The bungalows are gorgeous. The staff is great. A rare gem!
The public has beach access, so the beaches get very crowded during the day. It’s a really popular spot. The key is to go to the beach early or late or just retreat to the property and the enormous pool mid-day.

Location and the facilities were fab. The staff and their service was fantastic… one of the best.
The food was very average and limited options. Did not meet expectations at all.

Everything was perfect
It just ruined all other hotel experiences of the trip because it was absolutely superior.

Beaches, jungle setting, pool, service. Best of the best.
The pavilions are great, but you are not on the water. Bed was a little too firm.

Fabulous setting , amazing scenery beautiful rooms . The pool was huge and set back from the beach offering great views but feeling private. We loved that we could pop to the pool restaurant for a wonderful smoothie , lunch or supper and never be disappointed. Staff excellent.make sure to get up early 6.45 am and walk along the beaches when they are empty as by 10 all the day trippers arrive and you can hardly move . We enjoyed the Huge selection of buffet style and al a carte available
From fantastic chia pudding with mango which was sublime to full English. The boat ride to from the resort was also good fun.
A welcome drink on arrival would have been appreciated but I’m being picky now .

Spacious rooms , clean , good location .
Had a very bad experience on our last night it was our daughters birthday and we had booked the grotto to celebrate .
The whole experience was very disappointing.
The restaurant was understaffed , cold food and a general lack of concern when we complained to the manager .
I sent a message on the internal app to complain and I also raised it again when we checked out in the morning.
Still not had a reply from anyone at the hotel .
We have stayed at the Rayavadee on 2 previous occasions on the last 10 years and feel that the standards have slipped .

Absolutely exceptional property. Beautiful, secluded, with top notch service. Peaceful setting adjacent to three beaches with lots of wildlife.
Nothing it’s perfect

Gorgeous living accommodation (bedroom with enormous bed, lounge area, bathroom, cloakroom) with well equipped fridge/ coffee/tea options. Whole grounds are stunning and an oasis of calm and serenity with a huge and stunning pool as well as gym, tennis courts and other facilities. Restaurants are all excellent. In particular we enjoyed the Thai restaurant and The Grotto. Sunsets are amazing. Views of the surrounding area, especially from the pool are breathtaking. Excellent breakfast. All of the staff are wonderful - professional and engaging. Transfer back to the airport was very smooth. Fun and new experience being transferred to the boat by a tractor!
We were absolutely shocked by the dozens of long tail boats bringing hordes of people to enjoy the beaches. We were not prepared for that! Nothing the hotel can do about that as they are public beaches and one is blissfully unaware of this within the serenity of the hotel grounds. If you get up early and walk on the beaches at 6.30/7.00, the true beauty and the magnificent scenery can be appreciated fully as if on a castaway island. Any later in the day, stay within the delightful hotel grounds.

Amazing hotel! Grotto is impressive, love it! We will come back again.
Nothing. Only just to mention,we made a booking with Grotto for our 10th anniversary, we requested a seaside table. It was confirmed that this note was taken. But when we arrived they did not have any note and it was upsetting that all tables were full on the front row. Eventually they arranged us a front row table anyway.

Everything was amazing, the hotel structure, the monkeys, the three beaches. The service was also beyond excellent.
If I really had to find a point of improvement, some of the non-local food (in particular European) could have been a bit better - but the Thai and Asian food options were superb. And the breakfast was out of this world.

The pavillion we occupied was recently refurbished and quite lovely. The tropical forest setting was very beautiful to walk around the grounds. The Raya Restaurant and the Grotto have extremely good food and the serving staff are friendly and keen to please. The pool area is large and pleasant. The Krabi Airport bus/boat transfers are very well organized and very reliable.
The constant boat engine noise from Railay Beach and Prah Nang Beaches spoils the serene atmosphere. The crowds walking up and down the beaches make it less desirable to swim in the ocean. I know it’s beyond control of the resort, but it spoils the overall beach experience.

This place has it all. Great food, excellent and unreal views, unbelievable pool and even better than all of this was the employees. Best of the best worldwide! From the start, being picked up on a boat and driven to the resort and being welcomed by everyone at the beach was already amazing. You literally get out onto the sand from the boat that pulls up to the front gate of the resort. They immediately treat you like you're home. Check in was smooth and easy. A golf cart takes you to your little bungalow in the jungle followed by another guy who brings all your luggage upstairs and lays it out perfect. Walking into the room takes your breath away. You are in a literal paradise in a very clean, big, comfortable and perfect room/bungalow. The room is only the beginning. The resort has 2 beaches. Yes 2!....the pool has unreal views and it is very hard to get out. Monkeys jumping from the trees, coconuts falling out of the trees, lizards the size of dinosaurs just casually walking around everywhere, giant jungle birds flying everywhere and only smiles from the few people you see. This is what is great. You dont have 1003975 people all over the place and no room to do anything. It feels empty! It feels like it's only you and your party there. So much space and room to do things. Walk the random trails and enjoy the plants, trees, animals and massive limestone cliffs that pop up out of nowhere! We didnt have a single bad bite in this place. Every restaurant was incredible. Every drink was perfect. And honestly the best views from a restaurant have to be here at this resort. Nowhere else on this planet like it. EAT AT THE GROTTO! The pictures don't do it justice. Get a massage at the spa! Absolutely ridiculous!🤯 so great. Book a private boat tour and have them pick you up at Rayavadee. They pull onto the beach in front of the hotel and you literally walk into about knee deep water and get in your own personal and private boat for the day!

The greenery was magical, it’s very perfectly located in terms of beaches. I loved seeing the animals/birds on the grounds also!
I typically don’t love dark wood, it can make a space feel dated.

A fabulous island retreat accessible only by boat. Spacious two-storey accommodation that was very luxurious. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. The pool was huge with great views and the other side of the island offered a stunning beach and cave restaurant called The Grotto
More casual dining options would be good

The property grounds are amazing and vast. It is like being in the middle of a botanical garden and on the beach at the same time

The hotel is amazingly located in a natural paradise surrounded by beautiful beaches. The garden around the bungalows is outstanding, with monkeys, giant lizards and other tropicals animals. Great pool. Delicious breakfast.
The bungalows really need some TLC. Air conditioning is extremely noisy (you can chose if sleep in a fresh room or in a silent one, not both at the same time) as well as the plumbing of the bathrooms.

This was one of the best stays we had in Thailand. The resort is truly unique—almost impossible to capture in words. We loved the natural surroundings and the beautiful deluxe-style bungalows where the rooms are located. The service was excellent (almost) everywhere: reception, the restaurants, poolside, the boutique, housekeeping—everyone we encountered was wonderful. The scenery felt like something out of a movie, with a stunning private beach and direct access to Railay Beach. The pool, set against dramatic cliffs and lush greenery, was absolutely breathtaking. Our room was incredible as well, with two floors and a huge, exceptionally comfortable bedroom that made our stay even more memorable.
Our reservation included only breakfast, and unfortunately the dining experience in general was disappointing. The breakfast itself wasn’t very good—the buffet and à la carte options were mixed together, but at least half of the dishes we tried didn’t taste good. The kitchen really needs to step up, especially considering the resort’s prices and reputation.
Because there aren’t many reasonably priced dining options near the hotel, we relied on the resort’s restaurants, all of which were extremely expensive for the quality and variety offered. We also dined at The Grotto, which was an unforgettable setting, but it ended up being the most expensive meal of our entire two-month trip across Asia—even more than Nobu in Japan—and the taste simply didn’t justify the price. Overall, unless you book half-board or full-board, dining at the resort can become overwhelmingly expensive, and the food itself doesn’t match the cost. Even the service, which was fine, wasn’t exceptional enough to balance out the high prices. It often felt like everything—down to a soda by the pool—was priced with tourists in mind, rather than with reasonable value.
We also encountered issues during checkout. The bellboy helped carry our luggage only as far as the pier, after which we had a long walk on our own while rushing to catch the public boat, which arrives only every few hours. This made the departure unnecessarily stressful. In addition, housekeeping could be improved—they never cleared dirty plates or cups from our room during the entire stay, even though it was clear they needed to be removed.

Beautifully designed to fit into a lush rainforest, yet convenient to walk around. The wildlife and general wilderness are amazing. The quality of the room was exceptional - heavy wooden furniture, gigantic comfortable bed, a lot of small details and very clean. A/C is also very powerful. The breakfast was delightful and healthy. The food in the restaurants was also good. Staff go out of their way to meet all your needs. Nearby Railay walking street is very close. The three beautiful beaches.
The pool could be designed better, especially for kids. A Jacuzzi would go a long way (especially in the cooler days we got to experience there).
In high-tide it’s impossible to go to (or return from) Railay walking street - seems like a more convenient passage than the beach should be arranged.
Food prices at the hotel are especially high, compared to the food at the town.

Rayavadee is truly one of the most incredible resorts I’ve ever stayed at. From start to finish, everything felt luxurious and unforgettable. The villas are spacious and beautifully designed, the pool is fantastic with views over East Railay Beach, and the breakfast buffet by Phra Nang Beach is outstanding. I loved that the property is basically surrounded by three stunning beaches, with plenty of spots to relax, including beach beds to lounge in. The main entrance opening into a bay feels magical, and The Grotto restaurant—set inside an ancient cave—is a one-of-a-kind experience.
It’s been a month since my stay and I’m still dreaming about it. Without a doubt, I can’t wait to return.

Everything at the resort was truly wonderful, dreamy, and beautiful – from the staff’s kindness and service to the stunning views and unique design. However, I did face a couple of issues.
First, in my room there were some small insects on the bed, which was unpleasant. But the biggest disappointment came from my dinner experience at The Grotto restaurant. The tall, slim waiter who served us was very rude. We first sat at one table, then immediately decided to change to another. He raised his voice at us, saying it was not allowed to change more than once, and insisted loudly that “this is the last time you can change.” I responded firmly that I had the right to choose my table, but after that, throughout the whole dinner, he served us with a bad attitude – frowning and making us feel unwelcome.

Spent our wedding here and it exceeding our expectations. The staff really made us feel special and treated us great. Book yourself a spa and reserve a table at the grotto. Nothing disappointed and we will be back :)
Nothing, everything was 5 star.

The location is phenomenal. The property itself worked in conjunction with its natural surroundings to create a luxurious yet grounded feel.
I suppose “mosquitoes” would be the only thing I can think of, but that’s not really anything the property can reasonably address.

nice hotel, luxury stay
Heads up that the resort restaurants are very expensive - one menu has a $100 lobster pad thai! Nice for a one-off dinner but better value for food and drinks to be found in the main street ... price of 2 cocktails by the pool is equal to a full dinner for 4 in the main street
