Sakura Inn

The bed was comfortable, bedroom was clean, shower pressure was good, big size tv, good location, check out was fast and simple.

It'd be nice to have a safe in the room; and sometimes some sort of smell would come back from the bathroom fan.

Great location for visits to the studio tours, Universal, and the Griffith Observatory. We also liked that it had EV chargers. Burrito Bomba up the road was awesome for breakfast! While there was an ice machine, there was no water dispenser anywhere on the property, so we went to Ralph's a block away for drinking water.

We could hear EVERYTHING in the rooms around us, causing for some sleepless nights to say the least. While I understand this is a vintage building, one way to help would be padding on the chairs that are very loud when moved on the tile flooring. Another issue was the smoke detector was missing from its spot on the ceiling, which is not only concerning but illegal.

Room size. Clean. Very affordable. No hidden fees. Peaceful, slept really well.

I liked the value, the beds, the spaciousness of the room and tge big bonus: the Tesla Super Charger.

It seems that the little things were taken care of more when the family that owns it lived there. Fir example, the toilet paper roll fell into tge trashcan whenever you used it due to loose screws mounting it to the wall.

It was very clean. I do like the security gate. It was very modern and the location was ok

The staff was not available during check out. There was no coffee or tea in the rooms. Also the cable went out in the morning. The elevator was broken

No coffee or tea, also room we booked was not given to us on first night. Had to argue with staff to get partial refund. No communication of any booking change at any time and no offer of compensation up front without us arguing for it.

Clean, spacious room. Staff very accommodating when we need some utensils for our take out. Location is ideal, near freeway but not the traffic noise. Near coffee shops, local eateries and grocery store.

Overall, it was a very decent stay. The parking (free) is closed at night, so that kind of keeps some shady people out. It still *felt* like you had to look behind your back kind of, but nobody ever was a problem and I didn't see any loiterers or anything. It's close to a Ralphs and a few small restaurants. I could hear some noise from other rooms, but it wasn't awful in general. There was a buzzing noise one night that lasted for hours that I can only assume was from a neighboring bathroom fan. The space in general was tidy, but the soap containers in the shower seemed like they haven't been replaced or washed in years, which was kind of gross. But the water pressure was nice and i had brought my own toiletries, so I never needed to use theirs. I would recommend doing the same. One of the towels had a hair in it which was a little off-putting, but there were other towels. The room comes with an iron and ironing board, a kettle, cups (paper for hot and plastic for cold drinks), a microwave, and a minifridge with a frozen compartment, as well as a tv. Some of the charging ports weren't super tight, so my chargers kind of slipped out of them and I just made do with the ones that worked. There's a vending machine and ice machine on the property, but I could never find where breakfast was served - I'm not sure they actually even do breakfast, because there isn't like a big main gathering room. There was an outside back patio, but no one was ever there. So if you're expecting breakfast, plan to eat out or buy groceries. I was able to receive an Amazon order to the hotel, so that was nice. The front office accepted it for me and I just went and picked it up.

Couldn't ever find the breakfast area (not sure they actually serve breakfast), the shampoo/conditioner bottles in the shower were old and dirty, one of the towels in my room had a hair in it.

Clean modern functional rooms. Charging station for car. Good location. Toilet flushes softly.

Limited parking. Stairway and walkway felt uneven underfoot. Bathrooms are a little tight.

The hotel itself has a good appearance, clean and in a good location accessible to stores and freeways. I don't know what an actual room looks like cause I wasn't allowed to use a restroom or wait for my companion the 20 min. That she was running behind schedule. The young lady said she would cancel my reservation but come to find out not only did she make me feel uncomfortable when I was there but I was charged for a reservation that she DID NOT honor. That's really not fair

The lady in the lobby was not taught or she didn't receive the corect training in customer service. She didn't cancel my reservation like she said she did. It was a busy day so I'm sure she gave my reservation away to another guest more to her liking.

The decor of the rooms look nice and modern and clean.

If you get home late, there’s not many parking spaces left. However, we appreciated that the gate was closed at 11 o’clock. That made us feel safe.

There was nothing that I didn’t like. The air conditioner was loud in our room which was not the case in another room we visited. However, that is no deterrent to staying there. It’s a terrific place. Spacious rooms and incredible water pressure for the showers

The bed was comfortable and the room was fairly large.

Not sure how this place gets a 9 rating. We had a bunch of issues. First of all, the lobby smelled so strongly of curry it was distracting. Mind you, I love curry but this was just too strong. Most of the lights in the room were bright white LEDs instead of soft white. Cold and depressing. And, no privacy curtain behind the blackout curtains, so opening the curtains was pointless. There was a good amount of black mold around the bathroom sink and the shower. Doesn't take much to bleach that! The shower had no body wash and the bath mat was frayed and stained. They couldn't get us anything until the next day! The comfort was so thin that it was uncomfortable to sleep. Requested two more for the next day. Parking was horrible. The spots are so small that we were concerned about our rental car getting damaged. They require you to back in to some of the spots. The place just looks run down both inside and outside. No pride in their high rating.

We were visiting family in the area and the Sakura was very convenient and close to them nearby. For the most part a quiet neighborhood and overall a clean room. The room was also well equipped with all the necessities and looked newly remodeled. It came equipped with a hot water kettle, however no coffee/ tea service available which would of been nice.

The room was mostly clean, however there was some grit on the floor that got on our bare feet so not sure what it was as the room looked clean? On check in we arrived @ 10 minutes after 11 pm and all was closed, the gate and street door were shut & locked. We made several calls to the property # only to get an answering service. We then texted the property and did get a response to let us know someone would be there shortly to check us in, however it took about 10 minutes waiting on the street late at night until we were finally able to get in and check in. We had texted earlier that evening about 9:30 pm that we would be arriving late between 11 & 11:30 pm and did receive a text back that there would be no problem to check in at that time. It all worked out but for a few minutes it was a little disconcerting.

Another awesome stay. This has become our go to spot for stays while visiting our student at Oxy. The inn has everything one needs for a comfortable, no-frills, reasonably priced stay. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well appointed, making for a pleasant comfortable stay.

Excellent stay at Sakura, with an immaculately clean room which was in great condition. This place is an excellent value for money with restaurants and stores in walking distance. We highly recommend this place - we intend to stay here again nex ttime we come to LA.

The service at the reception was satisfactory, but it would be nice if employees were a little friendlier. Everything else is great, so stay friendly to your paying guests :).

The room was not the same as the pictures that we booked. I had booked a room with a fireplace but did not receive that. In the end though I didn't care that much. Room was stale smelling.

Location, room clean, bed comfortable

On arrival only 2 washcloths, 2 bath towels. No hand towels or bath mat. Got those in the AM Shower waz good with rain shower head, but only half wall of glass, no matter how hard we tried water got all over the tile floor

All the rooms are very modern. We stayed here many nights

Did paid for a king suite with fireplace but was given a deluxe king room. Not to sure why I didn’t get the suite with fireplace. Overall it was a great stay. They help resolved the issue and came to an agreement.
