The Location is close to the beach. Extra Room - We are a family of four with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is so much better than a hotel.

The key location was listed as under a mat...it would have been nice to have more details such as top of the stairs as it was actually under a fully carpeted area. Darcy sent a credit after there was no shampoo, conditioner or soap found in the unit. The kitchen is very basic - only one pan could be used in the oven - another baking pan/sheet would be helpful. The TV was tricky to figure out and we would have appreciated instructions. The master shower has two shower heads however one shower head was broken while we were there.

Overall we enjoyed the rental and would return during the summer months next time

We loved the location to the beach even though the weather was not very good and we coud only go the beach 1 day out of 4. We would enjoy coming back in the summer months when we could enjoy the location more! We liked that a garage was included because the street parking was hit and miss.

Always an amazing time here.

This is our second year in a row coming here & we love it. We rent the whole unit, top & bottom. Soo close to the beach, you have a liquor store, coffee shops, & jack in the box in the shopping center across the street. Literally walking distance, 2mins top. Darcy listened to every suggestion from last year & the house is so much better. The rug that had everyone tripping was removed, the cushions on the outside patio were upgraded, the outlets around the house all work now. The house was ready earlier than last year so that’s a plus. The little AC’s in the living rooms are amazing. I wish each room had something similar instead of fans because the rooms get extremely stuffy. Maybe adding a window air conditioner in every room will help with the stuffiness.

We didn’t like that being there for 3 nights there was only one roll of toilet paper in the restrooms and there wasn’t any hand soap either. We bring all of our toiletries but didn’t think we needed to bring that as well. So we had to pause & go shopping for everything else. There’s not a big variety of kitchen supplies available, so maybe buying more kitchenware would help a lot. Those were the only cons, but nothing too bad to never come here again. I’m sure we’ll be here next year, year #3.

Extremely satisfied with our stay. First time we used site to rent a house, for a trip with 10 people. House was exactly like pictures on-line. Very clean, great location, and when barbecue ran out of gas, just a simple call to Darcy and it was taken care of immediately. House came equipped with sufficient number of towels, bedding, etc., only thing we had to buy is our groceries. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way! House and especially Darcy!

If I had to say anything I didn’t like it would be trying to park SUV behind first car, when upstairs unit also has SUV in garage, only because alley way is so narrow and I am not good yet with trusting/using car cameras. Nothing to do with Darcy or house

Great location close to the beach. The decks are lovely to sit on as well.

There was a little bit of confusion on the day of check-in, but it all worked out without any detriment to our stay. The parking space is tight, as described. The smaller the car, the better.

Recommended with minor caveta

Great Location obviously, lovely host and vey good value. Some slight niggles but would not stop me staying again. We are a family of 5, adult kids and had plenty of room. Everything you need was there including beach towels, chairs, boards etc. The property was very clean when we arrived. Lots of reviews mention the garage and difficult parking. We had a Jeep Wagoneer and managed to get in our half with no problem. Other unit had a Nissan Rogue and we had no problem both parking. Might be difficult to get a big vehicle out if other one parked

Just in need of updating, lots of minor niggles due to things being a bit past sell-by. Nothing major and wouldn't stop us returning. No doubt would add to the sticker price if all these things were attended to. I searched very carefully before booking and could not get anywhere near the price for the size and location.

We had a blast for Girls Weekend

The place was so spacious and loved the master bedroom/bath with it's own balcony. We had the upstairs unit. Darcy was amazing with answering questions.

Bikes were old, didn't like the rug in the extra bedroom. Almost tripped several times.

Overall we had a great time at a great location in a place that met our basic needs.

The location is perfect! Walking distance to the ocean and local restaurants. (Highly recommend the Thai Restaurant-name escapes me right now, apologies) Visually this beach duplex is lovely and has all the added touches to make anyone feel right at home. All furniture is kept up, comfortable and clean. The owner is friendly and communicative.

Some of the descriptions when booking were not clear, leading us to believe we had booked both units (upstairs & downstairs) when we had actually booked just the downstairs unit. Recommend double checking the bed count and bathroom count when booking, to ensure you understand what you actually booked. A few items on the rental instructions need to be updated. i.e.//The entry key vs. lock code information, maintenance contact's phone number, what to do with the bedding and linens at check-out. Lastly, we experienced some disappointment with not being informed ahead of time about the outdoor fire-pit on the patio missing a piece and not working. That firepit was a selling point for us that we came prepared to roast marshmellows on and would have appreciated the heads up before arrival of it being broken.

Enjoyed our stay with no problem.

Darcy is a great host. She saved my ‘’life’’ by finding a compressor to inflate a flat tire, which was good enough to take me to the rental spot to change the car. Location is very good, close to beach, very safe area with an indoors car park which was big enough to just accomodated a Chrysler Pasifica !!! If you want to go to beach, plenty of towels, foldable armchairs and even bikes should you wish to ride. Kitchen was fully equipped and also a washer and dryer was avaliable in the flat. But you have to bring your washing detergent etc... There was a barbecue available on the terrace with a big table for eight people.

Since it was chilly in the mornings, we couldn’t have breakfast on the terrace. But bar stools were enough for three of us to have breakfast in the house. Later, in the afternoon, terrace was great to start an ‘’happy hour’'.

Delightful for a beach stay with family!

The house is a so close to the beach! It's an old-school Newport home which is a real treat to get to experience. Large enough to sleep a big group of people, I was able to enjoy a weekend at the beach with my 80-year old parents, siblings, neices and nephews. Perfect for a large group.

Perfect location to enjoy beach and visit LA

The location is close to the beach. With the right beach weather, you are in the perfect place here. The Newport beach is super clean and 1000 times more beautiful and cleaner than Santa Monica or Venice beach. House has everything necessary. In addition to the beach, other attractions in LA are easily accessible by car.

We were reasonably lucky with our upstairs neighbors, but if you encounter noisy upstairs neighbors (also a rental apartment) you will definitely hear it.

Great location. The house did not appear loved or cared for.

The location was right across the street from a basketball court. I enjoyed the close walk to the beach and the bikes. I also did not have issues getting my deposit and was in a timely manner.

There were ants. The appliances did seem up to par for the paid price. The parking does not accommodate vans/suv. The communication up to the stay was awful. The property asked my multiple times to pay before booking withdrew the money. Addressed me as wrong name wasn’t sure if they were getting clients mixed up. I had to contact booking twice to resolve this issues.

Loved how close the beach was.

A few things didn’t work like the fire pit, husband fixed the dart board game, there wasn’t really a spot to all sit and gather inside the house little Crowded and not a big enough space to sit eat together. The upstairs uses washing machine in middle of night and dryer and it was so loud it sounded like someone running on a treadmill above our heads. The parking is crazy if you have a larger vehicle, tandem parking doesn’t work since the bicycles take up space.

Worry over deposit refund

Location was wonderful. Full kitchen with everything we needed. Nice patio with barbeque. Comfortable and quiet.

We paid $1000 deposit on Oct 24, for our stay Feb 28 to Mar 4. Deposit refund was promised 7 to 14 days after our stay. After 14 days with no refund of deposit, several messages were sent, and Booking.com Customer Service was contacted. Booking.com did pass on my messages. No response from the host. Deposit was was refunded Mar 25, with still no message from the host. I would have appreciated at least an explanation or apology. The worry about getting the refund, being in a different country, spoiled the experience for me.

Excellent value and well maintained property, worth what we paid for.

Bikes were available in the garage. Also there were chairs, umbrella's and boogey boards that we could take to the beach. Inside home, AC was great for humidity, very quiet, beds were comfortable. Probably slept the best I have in a long time while staying here.

No table inside for meals, no screen on the bedroom window. Master shower handle is hard to turn shower on and off. Didnt feel comfortable not closing garage.
