Arden Cottage

The cottage is cozy and charming with a luxurious bathroom and a lovely thermostat-controlled fireplace. It was private and easy to access. Location was terrific, and we were able to park for free on the street, right by the gate. The views were exceptional, even when a big storm rolled in. The sleeping arrangements weren't clear to me beforehand, so to clarify: there's a bedroom with a twin bed, and a Murphy bed and sleeper sofa in the main room. There's a full kitchen but no washer or dryer.

the view was as expected but better in person...and to hear the seals barking was pretty fun...it was such a close walk to the lighthouse and park/ocean via the backroad, HUGE bonus. Coffee shops, stores and restaurants were close in all directions. very easy walking distance and all within a mile+ any direction. Lots of options. Loved the old stuff in the kitchen, super fun to look in the cupboard. The whale vase was a highlight. The vents in the wall at the front of the house were a fun find.

I didn't like that there were not specific parking directions in relation to the fact that the city ordinance says you cannot park against the flow of traffic even in the gravel spot in front of the house. I actually got a parking ticket for parking backwards there, it's pretty much an unused street so the fact that they issued a ticket and not a warning to a vacation rental was maddening. I went to the city and filled out paperwork to fight it and they did cancel the ticket so that was nice. I suggest the owner/manager tell guests not to park facing the wrong way, as it's a very big deal in that city. Parking the opposite way was easier for my mom to get in and out of my car that's why I parked that way in the first place. The cleaning of cobwebs around/behind/under the furniture and in the unused areas more regularly would be appreciated, the cleaning seemed surface only.

Location, view of the Yaquina bay & bridge, shower, claw tub, didn’t use but looked inviting. Full kitchen, we didn’t cooked any meals but one can.

More of questions, you can actually sleep 5 but a maximum of 3 people ? We’re a couple but a couple w/ 2 kids cannot reserve this cottage. Also one of the Vacasa check out instructions says to put the sheets in the laundry if you can. Well, there is no washer/dryer in the cottage. It can upgrade the dvd player to at least a Bluray player if not a 4K player.

would be nice to have some spices in kitchen/ like salt and pepper and sugar for coffee. would need to make sure they don’t expire though. couch is getting a bit old/ in some places you sink. add a motion outdoor like near the door . hard to see the keypad and key hole in the dark add a book on how to operate the tv or where things are located in the house- a guest help book these are just ideas on how to make an already comfortable experience more comfortable
