Location
No controls for heat and air in the room! They charge $2 for bottles of water left in the room. Room key did not work to get out of the parking lot. Everyone in line to get out had to use the call button to get the gate opened. They knew it was a problem so they should have opened the gates! Old room creepy decor still from when it was the Hard Rock Casino. Way too expensive for this place!

Great location and great variety of slot machines and tables.
Paying for parking and getting out was a little tricky.

The room was perfect size, very clean and had everything we needed. Bonus that it was close to ampitheater and walkable. Parking was easy and check in was easy too.
There was not an obvious route to get through the casino. had to walk through tables and slots. Not a huge deal, but a walkway around the perimeter would have helped.

I like the update in the rooms plus location
There’s no bathroom close to reception

Pool was closed so early for the season

The parking lot issue was confusing and there should be no charge as the lot was 100 yards wide.It was old and tired the carpets were old and the elevator was old and dirty

the beds were comfortable
When we arrived we were put in the old section of the hotel that had not been renovated. The room looked like it was from the 70"s including the college dorm refrigerator. The bathtub was disgusting. We didn't even unpack, we went to the hotel reservation desk and asked to be moved. The staff was very rude but agreed to move us . Once we were in our room we waited 4 days for housekeeping to change our linens and bring clean towels. I called on 4 different occasions, and no one showed up. Finally after 4 phone calls someone from housekeeping came to our room to change the linens at 8:30 in the evening. She could not speak English and was not very pleasant even after I tipped her for changing the linens! The hotel advertisement is false. This hotel has 1 steak house and a sports bar. The hotel is under construction and not up to par. The employees at the reservation desk insisted that we check out a day before our reservation was over. Thank goodness I had my paperwork with me showing that I paid for a 9 day stay. They said their computer was in the process of switching to a new system and they could not pull up the correct information for my booking. We stayed 9 days, hotel said we stayed 5 days. We were not informed that we would be charged $20.00 per day to park our car, and we were not informed that there were additional resort fees that we were billed for at time of check out. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel and this was not a good experience for us.

The bed was comfortable.
Our room temperature never got warm and my night was super cold. I should have asked for more blankets. The bathroom door was too close to the toilet and small.

$300 for a room doesn’t provide a refrigerator bed was soft. Also upon check in 1 person working counter waited in line for 25 minutes

The location, pool and balcony were great. The casino is fun and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
The line to check in and the construction. Also the air-conditioning didn't work very well, so the room was a little stuffy.

The location is the highlight of the property. They have made some updates/changes under the new ownership, but they still have a long way to go.
Our room wasn’t in the newly remodeled tower. The curtains had holes in the them. The bathroom toilet smelled like urine (it was strong) it was just awful. Also the bathroom is so small you can barely clear the toilet when closing the door. We were only given two pillows for the king sized bed and 2 towels. I don’t understand why they are so stingy. I didn’t sleep well. The staff is pretty much non existent. We pulled into “hotel registration” to unload our bags and park/valet, not a single employee in sight for 10-15 minutes or so. We assumed we park ourselves, only to find out at the check in desk that our parking was included. Also upon leaving the elevators in the garage were broken. No signage within the garage itself. The whole property needs help, but it looks like in time that is the plan.

Good location!
When I checked out, I asked for a final bill, received it. I noticed the receipt was blanked, I asked why the receipt was blank and the lady helping us, why? She said the bill was paid thru Booking.com and there were no other charges. I asked about parking, she said because I used my credit card to park and she told me to use the room key to get out there would be no charges. A month later, I received my credit card statement and there was a charge for $175.57 to the Golden Nugget! I called talked to a Valerie and she said it was for a resort fee, parking and other fees, then she said something was wrong and she would send me to her boss, the call was sent and then a voice mail came on saying this call could not leave a voicemail and it hung up. Also, why was there a resort fee, the pool wasn't open even though when I booked the room it said the pool would be open on Memorial Day and for the rest of the summer, Then I saw a couple days before I checked in that the pool wouldn't be open until July 1st.

The location was excellent and the casino and restaurants were very nice. I enjoyed that it was smoke free.
In our room the AC was extremely loud and both the bathroom door and entrance door stuck against the door jam. The lobby area was non existent due to construction.

Very close to the Main Street.
Not good value for the price, very old, needs an urgent update.
Gym is very old and not well maintained.
The bath tub was not working, very noisy rooms.
The “lake view” room is not worth the price, window is very small and you can barely see the lake.
The carpet all over the place and even in the room was smelly.

Very nice location and facilities. The pools need to be warmer for sure.
The amount of lounge chairs by the pool and the temperature of the pool was way too cold

Cigarette smelling hotel
Can not communicate with any hotel service
No service provided upon unresponsive hotel staffs
No water , soap, blankets, towels anything requested are not responded
I paid almost $800 for 2 nights premium room but it worth as 1 star motel
I was so angry and regretted that I chose this hotel Golden Nugget for my precious vacation time
I recommend to everyone not to even call this Golden Nuggets hotel for anything unless you want to trash your vacation

Although I have been using booking.com for some time, this will be the last time.

The staff wasn’t really helpful checking in. I think I woke her up. The casino really was old. Didn’t have many newer games.

The location has always been good and I do like the Salt Grass restaurant.
We tried to check in at 3pm. They said our room was ready; however it would be another $25 fee to check in 1 hour early. I’ve never had to pay to check in early of my room was ready. This was super annoying, and then we came back at 3:40 and there was a huge line of people checking in at 3:40, the staff seemed overwhelmed then, and it makes no sense why if our room is ready and you can check me in I have to pay extra. I would understand if it was 3-4 hours early.

Location ! Steakhouse
Loud parties on Sat night all around our room and below us. Room floor was dirty when we checked in. Coffee pot didn't work. Told front desk and was told they would replace. Never did. Needs remodel bad before I pay those prices again

The room view was gorgeous. The Casino very pleasant, clean and inviting!
For some reason- hotel management allowed- several hundred, extremely drunk and rowdy college students to stay at the resort. They partied for two straight nights. We didn’t sleep a wink. Very bad experience. Never again.

The staff gave us 2 fans when our AC was not working.
Our room was not cleaned properly before we arrived, trashes were full and had sticky stuff all in them. Our AC did not work and our rom got up to 80 degrees in the night even with the window open. Our room did not have a refrigerator unless we wanted to pay extra and parking cost us over $40 even though they had a half empty parking garage. The phone in our room did not work and most of everything was under construction.

That we were across the street from the hockey game.
Room felt filthy and old. Despite being non smoking you could smell people smoking weed in the room next door. There was also a used bar of soap in the bottom of the tub and only one pillow per person to sleep with.

The location.
The room was felt un cleaned. When we got there I had to clean our own room. There was hair clogged in the sink, shower. Hair on the toliet. Shower looked yellow and wouldn’t drain. Went to turn on the lamp to get ready for the night it was broken. The worse part was after we left we had bites all over our legs. I swear to god I hope it is not bedbugs!!!!
Spend the extra $100 because staying here wasn’t worth it.

It’s been a few years since we have traveled to Southlake Tahoe. pros: great location to other gambling establishments.
Cons: 1) they’re being purchased by the golden nugget. A lot of amenities are overlooked and no longer offered. gaming machines are not being maintained and if broken parts are not available. You have to move to a different machine.
2) restaurants do not stay open past 8pm. Except for the steak house which is over priced. The steak is $70 so we headed over to the Lucky Beaver for excellent BBQ.
3) Guest Parking: I was disappointed and taken aback learning that they charge parking fees for hotel guests. It lacks proper instructions where to park what to do when to do it. Apparently you must keep your car in the common area. What used to be valet parking, check in, return to your car with a room key card, use that key card to park in the appropriate lot. If you fail to do this, they charge you $18 an hour.
The lack of attention to the property because of a buyout currently in progress. And the excessive parking fee.
