There was no hot water. I couldn’t even take a shower the night I booked it or in the morning because the waster was cold. I asked them to come check and they said they couldn’t until Monday and then said everything worked after I had left and it did not. There was a huge hole in the bed.

This was our second year staying in Tahoe … From check in to check out, everything was great! … The location is quiet, close to all of the main South Lake Tahoe attractions and within a 10-minute walk to the lake. … Make sure to grab a lake voucher from the front desk so you don’t pay full price to have access to the beach.

Fantastic stay at Big Pines Mountain House!

The location is absolutely perfect, just a short walk to Heavenly Village, the Gondola, and the casinos—you truly can park your car and forget about it. Our room was cozy and had everything we needed, including a microwave and mini-fridge. For the price, this motel is a great value and the ideal base camp for a fun Tahoe adventure!

Wonderful Stay

The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with everything I needed for a cozy stay. The bed was comfy, the Wi-Fi worked great, and I loved having a mini-fridge and microwave. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, Big Pines Mountain House is a fantastic value for the area — clean, comfortable, and close to everything. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next Tahoe trip!

I had a wonderful experience at Big Pine Mountain House! The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable — exactly what you want after a day exploring Lake Tahoe. The bed was cozy, the bathroom spotless, and I really appreciated the little touches like a fridge and microwave for convenience.

When we arrived we were bummed to find that out room was on the second floor, but that was our fault for not specifying that we wanted a down stairs room. Our room didn't have a bath tub so I called the office and the next day and for the rest of our stay they put us in a room downstairs with a king bed and a bathtub. Everything in the room worked (tv, microwave, remote control, fridge, iron and ironing board and hairdryer). The staff was friendly and on top of anything else that we needed (extra pillows, towels and etc.) we asked and they brought it right away. We had a pleasant stay once we changed rooms. The casinos were nearby as well as restaurants and other stores. Good location. Parking was fine. At night it was nice and quiet. Overall it was a good experience. I would recommend it to others. They also have a laundry room there, the washer and dryer worked good .

I loved the spacious room and the spa/tub was amazing and relaxing. I enjoyed the set up and view of the t.v! The room is a good size as well. Really liked having a mini fridge and microwave to use. It was located walking distance to many of the local breweries,casinos and eateries. I would stay here again.

The room had dog food on the floor and in the bathroom from a previous guest which made me question the cleanliness. We brought it to the desk clerk attention. He said he would have our room serviced but when we returned later in the night it had not been cleaned.

The pictures of the room on your site are not the same. Flooring was missing in our room, there was a big hole in the wall in the bathroom. The hot water didn’t work. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the room smelled like chemicals.

Only plus for this place was the close proximity to the amphitheater.

It was run down, the room was not clean, no smoke detector, the floor was coming apart. Tile was broken and missing leading into the shower. The bed was worn out and broken down. When I sat on it I could feel a hole and the springs. The blinds did not close enough for privacy.

Ew, gross, stay away!!!!!

By far the dirtiest motel I have ever stayed at. It had not be cleaned at all from the previous customers. We did not use the shower or bathroom because the bathroom had bloody tissue all over the floor and a broken tooth next to the toilet. Pimples popped on the mirrors and hand prints. Sticky spilled stuff all over the desk. The whole room stunk so bad. Lots of trash under sink and in the main room as well. Had to keep our shoes on the whole time. Front desk manager wouldnt let me use a different restroom at 9am. That man lied and said he would give me a discount. They didnt even apologize. Stay away from this property. Any other hotel in the area would have been better.

Location and the voucher are the only things worth staying here for.

The location is within walking distance of everything so that was great and the voucher to beach was nice. Instead of paying $30 per person we only had to pay $5.

The shower was leaking and there was old used soap left in it. There was hair around the sink as well. The place did not seem cleaned at all. They would not give us a discount or different room. $250 for one night was extremely excessive for this place.

Located on a quiet street, but only 10 minute walk to a beach, the gondola, many restaurants and casinos the place allows you to leave the car and wander. So relaxing and care free.

Our room looked nothing like the rooms shown on the website.

The room was 'clean' but old & rather 'primitive'...several water leak repairs on the ceiling that were painted over. The bed was comfortable. We were in Room 148 & we appreciated being on the ground level as my husband has difficulty walking. Water pressure in the shower was great! We appreciated that the motel was 'pet friendly' for a $25 per night stay; however, the entire property was paved...There was no where for them to potty. We had to drive off property so she could relieve herself. There was barely enough room for parking for the # of rooms. There was one handicap space on the property that we used the 1st night we were there, but the 2nd day & night a small SUV was parked in the space with no plackard or license handicap symbol for all of the day & night so we had to park in a 'compact' space with our large vehicle. We elected not to report the violation assuming that it might be the manager's vehicle since it was just outside of the office & their room, but we do not know that for sure.

The bathroom 2' x 2' shower was out of the 60's or more. Tile was old. No fan in bathroom. No floor mat to prevent slipping when you came out of the shower. Hand towels were paper thin although that is what I used for a bathmat. Toilet seat was not secure on the toilet. Closet pole with shelf over it. Flooring on entrance side - 'boards did not match up, many holes & patches in floor. Couldn't make thermostat operate. Had to leave front window open in order to get fresh air during the night. Later discovered that the old A/C unit over 'closet' shelf operated separately from the thermostat. However, you had to stand on a chair in order to turn it on. Even though we were there on a weekend, $460 for 2 nights seemed rather expensive for the quality of the room. Even though checkout time was 11 am, our DirecTV was turned off & was unavailable from 8 am & on. I do have photos that I could share, but do not know how to transfer them from my phone to this questionnaire. I could text them to a phone # if you provide me with one.

It was close to a lot of things and had a good proximity to restaurants and stores and the water.

The rooms were not clean. If you walked around barefoot the carpet made your feet black because they were sticky. My son crawled on the floor and his knees and hands were black. The fridge was dirty and the TV in the king bedroom didn't connect to the cable.
