Best place to stay to experience the coast in Fort Bragg

We remembered this hotel from the first time we passed through Fort Bragg/Mendocino a few years ago. This time we traveled with another couple and got two rooms. You cannot beat the location with the picture window views of the crashing waves and coastline. The back door of the hotel room exits right on a running/walking path and our friends took an early morning run.

The weather, and the fact that Ft. Bragg restaurants seem to close so early. But that is not the Ocean View's fault!

Can't get closer to the beach

Location is the best. Rooms were very quiet. Even with the bad things, we went back for a second weekend.

Bed was hard and lumpy, shower is small and no water pressure, got a room with a soaker tub, tried to fill it up and the water runs so slow that after 20 minutes it was only about 2 inches deep. It would take an hour to fill it half way up.

The view is great! Some of the staff is great (the cleaning people and the girl desk clerk)!

The gentleman desk clerk isn't very personable! They have no night clerk and the cleaning staff was gone for two days! They have no night clerk! The rooms need some attention!!

Staff was rude. Room was not setup well at all. Only heat was a small plugin fake fireplace/heater. Not very well maintained compared to adjacent properties.

Our king room had a nice ocean view with comfortable bed, heat via electric fireplace. Good WiFi. Seating area & balcony. Coffee & fridge with microwave are provided. Comfortable. Friendly staff.

Gorgeous views out of the large windows, easy access to walking trail that takes you to Glass Beach, Pudding Creek Beach, padlock bridge, Mac Kerricher State Park! Excellent location! Reasonably priced.

My favorite place to stay

I love the proximity to the coastal trail. I appreciate the proximity to the ocean and to town. Clean and comfortable with excellent amenities.

Two very fixable things: 1. The shower head was pointed directly at the shower door and when I turned on the shower it sprayed right out the door. 2. There didn’t seem to be a light in the coffee station/microwave area which would have been helpful.

A fantastic place to stay with so many amenities and a great view!

This room was amazing! It was very spacious with extra amenities. It had a sitting room with coffee, refrigerator, and microwave. The bed was comfortable. But....most of all the view was spectacular. It even had a little bacon to sit out and enjoy the view.

There really isn't anything that I didn't like. It was great!

Beautiful room, beautiful views wonderful coastal town service could’ve been better

There was no breakfast included. The location was fantastic. Great views of the rocky coastline end of the waves crashing into shore right from our bedroom and our deck.

Maid service was suspended. We put in a special request that wasn’t even acknowledged.

The motion light in the room near the steps was extremely bright. I understand that it probably need to be that way. It woke me up when the person using the other bed got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Also extremely sensitive to any movement. Even when I was in the bed and just moved my foot off the mattress. Again, I understand the necessity in having it.

Disappointing as previous stays were delightful.

Change in furnishings from comfortable to uncomfortable (table and chairs). Staff unwilling to provide a substitution even though the "comfortable" options were clearly visible; used gaslighting to defer my request. Previous furnishings/room decor made the Ocean View a unique and desirable destination. Will not book again.
