La Quinta by Wyndham St. Louis Westport

Very clean and fresh smelling. Room size was amazing.

The staff was on the phone thru her ear bud and didn’t bother telling us the handle for the room would only work if you pulled it up. The housekeeping attempted to access the room prior to our late check out due to communication issues which caused the dog to be upset when I opened the door.

Nice & Safe.

They are doing construction so the elevator is kind of hot and my room was a little stuffy. Also my bed spread had stains that look like they were old but I slept on top of a bath towel just in case. Once a sheet is stained it should just be thrown away because it grosses out the new customer to turn down a bed and see stains.

Cleanliness

Housekeeping knocked the door though we had Do not Disturb card up at the door.

I liked the regular communication about my reservation

I didn't like how my room key didn't work, and even after getting new room keys, I still had to try them several times before the door would unlock. I also had to put my shoulder against the door and push a few times to get it to open. Maybe it was the humidity from the air not working outside of the rooms that made the door swell. The AC was out in the lobby and hallways, which made it EXTREMELY HOT!!!. The elevator was like a sauna!! The strong smell of marijuana was present as well on my floor and on the elevator, which is unfair for those of us who are not 420-friendly. The breakfast area should have been kept cleaner as people came down to eat, but there was a mess where the food was, and the tables were not clean. Staying 2 nights for $258. I feel accommodations should have been more pleasant. I wouldn't stay there again.
