Excellent place to stay.

Great location to Frenchman and music venues just around the corner. Also a quick walk to royal street. Peaceful and quiet room. Enchanting courtyard. Friendly staff. We will stay here again.

After years of visiting New Orleans, I’ve found the place I always want to stay. The Lamothe Hotel has a bit of a resort feel with the pool and outdoor spaces. It’s situated in a wonderful beautifully-maintained classic French Creole building, and the staff are all gems. And you can’t beat the location, right on the edge of the Quarter.

I found Lamothe House Hotel lacked things listed in the ad. There was no clock in the room, no free water bottles, no refrigerator for guests. The internet is shoddy that goes in and out. As for microwave, you can ask to use the staff’s microwave only during office hours. This is, “For those who prefer a more personalized dining experience, Lamothe House Hotel offers a shared kitchen facility… this fully-equipped kitchen provides all the tools you need...” It is just the staff's microwave. So don’t expect to have pots, pans, plates, or cutlery at your disposal. The hotel's so called charming coffee shop is a table with make it yourself coffee in reception. Luggage storage facilities is in the open reception room where sometimes someone is sitting at the desk. If no one is around, your belongings could be easily stolen. Lamothe House Hotel it is not in the heart of the vibrant French Quarter. It is just on the outskirts of the French Quarter adjacent to Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. I had sent an email and called in advance letting the Lamothe staff know of my arrival time and that I would need an extra blanket. When I arrived, my room was not ready. Carol called the maids and told me my room would be ready in an hour. So, I waited. Two and half hours later, they still hadn’t gotten to me room! When Carol checked, the maids had been cleaning empty rooms for guests that HAD NOT even arrived! The man that helped with one of my bags, carried it up the few stairs but left me struggling with the second bag. (I’m 61 years old woman with a bad leg and bad arm.) Once I got to my room, it smelled like cat pee. As I got my wallet, he leaned over to look inside my wallet! Furthermore, there was no shampoo, nor shower soap. There were no phones in the room to connect you to front desk. So, when I reported the missing items, I expected them to be replaced. In the whole time I was there they weren’t. Furthermore, I was never given an extra blanket. The staff in general comes off friendly with their smiles and talking nicely. However, they don’t follow through. Why would they since they already got your money?
