Taverna Akrogiali

Away from touristy areas, friendly staff, clean rooms, renovated 2020. A narrow asphalt road all the way. In some sources they refer to a gravel road.

Cute spot right on the water. The owner is super friendly, and the place was nice and seemed updated.

I felt pressured to eat at the restaurant and the food was not the best. One of the staff members was a bit rude.

Big and clean room by the sea with very comfortable bed. The host, Pavlos, is kind and always smiling - good energy! Slept well and left happy.

Bathroom had issues often found in Greece - low water pressure, aging fixtures, etc - but this did not affect my short stay.

The taverna is situated in an idyllic spot away from almost all other accommodation (not sure what is in the other building nearby in summer), on the sea, with a delightful restaurant right by the water. The goats are kept out so there are wild flowers all around in spring. It is on the E4 and easy to access the Aradena Gorge - for those who don't mind scrambling. The owner/manager, Pavlos, is delightful and extremely friendly.

We realise that providing food is one of the ways the owners need to make money and the source of the food may well be their own local produce. However, we did not feel the quality of it lived up to the hype and warn potential diners/breakfast eaters to check on the costs of the food as they order it (no written menu was offered to us) in order to avoid a shock.
