Clean rooms and genuinely friendly, helpful staff

I would like to be very fair to this hotel in Novi where I recently stayed, Four Points Detroit Novi. The location is very convenient—close to the mall and surrounded by plenty of things to do. I read some of the reviews beforehand, and I don’t believe some of them were fair. If you are looking for a high-end luxury hotel, this may not be the place for you, but that does not make it a bad hotel at all. This hotel is great for the price: clean, with friendly staff and a great location. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay, and they truly made us feel welcome. We will definitely stay here again. Paul and Hakeem did an amazing job making us feel at home (sorry if I misspelled your names!).

cleanest hotel in Novi

I travel to the Novi, Michigan area often for business with my wife, and I can confidently say this is one of the best hotels in the area. The Four Points in Novi is by far the cleanest hotel in Novi. While the building itself is a bit older, the warm welcome from the staff and how clean and safe the hotel is truly stand out. They are currently doing some remodeling, and I’ve already noticed the new paint and new carpet, which is a great improvement. Overall, the experience here is outstanding. I will always recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here whenever I’m in Novi.

Clean and convenient to many destinations.

The jacuzzi and the pool. The bed was comfy and the staff was helpful. It was mostly quiet and convenient to our destinations. Check in and out was easy.

The breakfast was pretty pathetic. There was construction with no helpful signs to tell us what corridors to avoid. I am walking with a cane because I just had back surgery, and we walked a LONG way to our room, and it was even longer because of the construction. Signs would have been helpful.

I liked the quietness and the cleaning staff kept my rom nice.

The water situation, of course not anyone’s fault, was not a pleasant thing to run into as I registered. You also provided as much bottled water as needed, which was great. When I registered, I asked the front desk how we would know that we could use the faucet, toilet, and shower. I was told by the front desk that they would slide a notice under our doors. Well, that didn’t happen. When I got up the morning after I registered (my first night) I looked for a note. None there! So I got dressed, brushed my teeth and washed my face with the bottled water and headed downstairs, asking at the desk the situation with the water, letting them know my toilet needed flushing. Well was told, “ Oh, you can use the water now just don’t drink the water.” Well I was quite frustrated and upset because I would have loved to take a shower, before my long day at a Conference and flush the toilet which wasn’t the best situation as far as cleanliness. So, chancing being late for the Conference, I hurried back to my room, flushed the toilet and took a quick shower before heading out for the day. I found too, that the front desk were not as cheerful and pleasant as they could be.

Location was near the venue I was visiting

The thermostat was literally set to 90°F during a visit in July. I don’t know if they had shampooed the carpet and were trying to dry it or what, but I reset the thermostat and it cooled off after a few hours. I got in a bit late and left pretty early, so this made for a pretty short sleep.

This place is a dump! There are far better hotel options for the price!

Nothing. It is rundown, dilapidated, dirty, and they have just tried to slap lipstick on a pig to make potential customers think this place is halfway decent…it’s not! I will say that the front desk was very welcoming, but I guess you have to be when trying to get customers in the door to make a sale before they can realize how deceptive the online reviews and pictures actually are!

There are holes in the walls and peeling paint and wallpaper all down the hallways, everything is dated and gross, there was peeling paint and wallpaper all over our room and it’s ceiling, a hole in the bathroom ceiling, no bathroom exhaust fan, the dirtiest bathroom counter that looked like it was wiped down with a dirty rag, a disgusting shower with mold around the edges and corners as well as a sloped floor that makes the shower water pool, the nastiest shower drain caked with disgustingness, a gap under our entry door big enough to stick half a hand under and we could hear EVERYTHING all night long bc of it, and our air conditioner wouldn’t stay on because the plug would t sit in the socket tightly and then when it was on, it was loud and constantly turning on and off to try to cool our room! There are so many other things I want to tell potential customers to be aware about, but I’ll stop here. This place IS NOT the place to stay, IDC what anyone else says! It needs knocked down and a completely new facility should be built!

The agent at the desk, when I called back told me, I was charged for smoking I DON'T SMOKE!!

Did not stay for breakfast, I work early.

The fact that, I reserved the room, to have a nice romantic dinner at the restaurant and drinks at the bar, because I stayed there on my birthday a few years ago, and I loved it. At check in, I was told that they were both closed on Sundays. Then I specifically requested a room away from noise they had me in the first floor, it was changed for me. Then I was charged 200$ extra after checkout accused of smoking in my room, I don't smoke, my guest smokes, but went outside to do so. We had to order food. I will never stay there again, I took the loss, because I don't like conflict. I am a very educated woman, and being petty is not in me. I once adored this place, but felt discriminated against. The restaurant is amazing, and I will visit that part only in the future.

Beautiful hotel, kind staff, decent rooms

Everyone at the front desk was very nice upon arriving, and the personal TV screen was a nice touch! We had a handwritten note from housekeeping (I'm guessing), which I thought was very sweet. The hotel was very clean, smelled nice, and was appropriately quiet.

The bathroom :( Our bathroom vent did not work and it made showers very sticky. We had to shower with the door open which caused moisture to accumulate on everything else. I did inform the front desk after we realized it wasn't working. I was told that maintenance would be in to look at, but it wasn't fixed before we left. Also, the water in the bathtub was either very hot or freezing. Turning the nozzle even a little would cause a drastic change. The faucet was loose in the shower as well.

I travel to Novi often but will not be back to this hotel.

I liked that it was a central location close to everything

I didn’t like that the pool was closed until 5pm on Saturday and then closed at 9pm. The bathroom was dirty in my rooms. The housekeeping came to tidy up my room, did not take the trash, took the dirty towels, but did not replace them. I also ordered extra bedding and was told it would be brought to my room, and it never came.
