Douglas Guest House

Location, the room cleanness, beautiful home.

A little cold at night.

A quiet tree lined street in the city - what's not to love about the location! And the house is just a few steps from Cambie Street, a main road where there are bus stops. It's a short walk to get the train to downtown. And there are restaurants and a Whole Foods close by/in walking distance. The breakfast was simple yet delicious and there were lots of options for beverages and what to eat. I had scrambled eggs the first morning and French toast the second. The French toast was the best! The Charlotte suite, where I stayed, was great too. At first I didn't feel as safe being separate from the main part of the house, but later for ease of arriving late in the night, it was perfect that I could just let myself in, without disturbing anyone. The Charlotte suite is entranced off the front porch.

I went in mid October and the weather was changing. It was warm when the sun was out, but the moment the sun went down it was cold. I found the room to be a bit cold, when I went to sleep at night but throughout the night it was warm. The temperature must have been controlled by someone else as there were no thermostats in the space. I think it would be a lovely place to stay in the spring and summer.

The breakfast was varied and good. Had french toast. The bed was comfortable.

The room was small and one window's slide mechanism was broken limiting air circulation

Staff super nice.

Expensive for whag it is!
