I love this hotel and actually booked this visit specifically to stay here, not for anything else in the area. These "rooms" are really apartments frozen in time, with hardwood floors, wallpaper, curtains, decorative plates and warm lighting. A full kitchen, gas stove, cupboards for days and even a clawfoot enamel bathtub, Watching a VHS movie and listening to the faint hiss of the radiators warming your back is something that takes me back to my own childhood and you simply do not find anywhere else.
There is nothing I did not like, though for people who prefer a modern feel, you won't enjoy Arundel. Floors are old and creak, rooms are darker (except the kitchen) and bathtub is better suited for baths (though it is possible to shower).
Note to management: Please NEVER change any of these things - they are a huge part of the charm and warmth of the place!

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last few years and I absolutely adore it. It has a home away from home feel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are more like suites, with separate bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen. It is conveniently steps away from many restaurants and public transportation. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and we will definitely be back.

They have embraced the theme of the early 1900s. The space is great: full kitchen and living room.
They only cleaned upon request and the stay was for two weeks (so they came in a total of twice, each time after asking). There is no staff onsite and unless you are available during their limited hours, you are treated as a burden. We literally saw a dead body the morning of checking out that was being taken away and it felt very unsafe going to the parking lot at night, as well as sometimes people were using drugs in the alcove of the front door. Surely there are things that could be done to make the situation more safe, like not having to get out over your vehicle to open the gate for the parking lot (which also isn't locked) and stairs that would take you to the back door instead of having to walk around on the street.

I truly enjoyed my stay. This is a beautiful antique hotel, and if you love history, you will absolutely appreciate this place. Staying here feels like stepping back in time. The staff was very helpful and friendly throughout our visit. We will definitely come back again.

funky kitsch decor, full kitchen, hilarious selection of VHS tapes (didn't confirm they work in the VCR though...)
check-in felt like a roach-motel; charging the card instead of putting a hold on it, photocopy of drivers license and credit card details (including CVV) with the 'promise' to dispose of after the stay; no door service after 7pm - all felt skeezy. When the 'concierge' openly laughed at my partner for refusing to get into the janky elevator, it just topped the sense of distaste for the business side of this operation.

Location
Very old and dated, not enough renovation so I didn't feel conformable because of dated stuffs which I wasn't sure if they were clean

There were mice in the room. The manager was notified and answered. It's an old building, and most likely, all the rooms will have them. Additionally, an exterminator will visit once a week to address the issue.
If you have kids or are not a fan of mice, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

The building itself was very cool — full of character and charm. I appreciated the earplugs being provided and the complimentary wine, which was a really nice touch. The apartment had great amenities, and it was nice to have a full kitchen and living space rather than a standard room.
The arrival process was confusing and could be improved. There was no clear signage or instructions on where to check in, and I only found out later that the “office” was actually the restaurant next door. The greeting at check-in felt rushed and a bit frustrated rather than welcoming, which was disappointing after a long drive. The fridge didn’t get very cold, and power outlets were limited. The area is also a bit sketchy at night, though I understand that’s out of the host’s control.

I was at first sceptical, but then viewed the place found it stuffy (mid summer; no AC). It was absolutely a dream to stay in, the price, location and the vibes. Other than the it being stuffy I absolutely loved the hotel room.
At first I thought it was an Airbnb but it’s actually a hotel with a good price.

Love old buildings with character.
Beautiful features.
Old buildings are money pits, there are some issues that regulate maintenance would help with. Staff cleaning is up to date , maintenance is the managements responsibility.

Great location. Loved the decor. Very friendly and helpful staff. The train just outside the window didn’t really bother me. In fact, for me it added to the vintage urban vibe.
No screens on the windows, so mosquitoes could enter if you left the windows open.

Building ilooks like it is 100 years old and looks like never updated. Homelessness meters away. Room door would not lock from inside and room was very hot. We did not stay and went to another hotel.

super cool piece of history. felt like we were time traveling.
no a/c. not really a huge issue but we chose to stay during the hottest days of the year. sky train was really close, we are from the country and not used to constant noise.

This is an extremely unique experience. More like visiting your eccentric aunty than a hotel! But this is amazing. Books to read. Antiques to admire. (Maybe Haunted?) we had an amazing visit.
This is not your best western! It’s a unique experience

It is a very old hotel, right downtown, and only 150 ft from the metro line. Excellent location.
It is a very old hotel, right downtown, and only 150 ft from the metro line, with trains going both ways every 3 minutes, even late at night,
Elevator was very poor, off-street parking was often not available.
But worst of all, after putting up with it for 3 days, they refused to allow a refund for leaving 4 days early. They stated that that was policy. Yet I never saw that info anywhere.
Druggies were all about on the street, with noisemaking late at night.

Love the old style heritage features. Ancient elevator, bay windows, push button light switches, round toilet tank! Complimentary wine, friendly staff. Not for anyone wanting standard modern souless sterile blandness. Train is noisey but I sleep through anything
Sad homeless nearby

Bathroom seemed clean
Property is old and it shows, place was listed to have ac and only had a SMALL window ac in bedroom only. Very hot.
The surrounding area and where I had to park my car felt unsafe especially since I had to get out of my car to use the gate.
The place was dirty, there was food on the remote and coffee table.

People smoking crack in doorway, couldn’t open door to leave in morning without yelling at them to leave. A lot of drug use in front of gate to parking lot too couldn’t even open gate didn’t feel comfortable by myself getting out and asking them to leave. Ended up parking on street in front of police station a few blocks away instead. Sky rail goes RIGHT by the window impossible to sleep the building shakes. Rail runs all day except ~1am -5am. Owner tried to claim we owed her for two rooms because booking.com booked us for two rooms. Called booking and confirmed this was not true we only ever had one room booked she was just trying to get more cash. Rooms so run down doorknob fell off when I tried to close door.

Very unique room. Like being transported back in time. Lots of space. Helpful, caring staff.
There were some sketchy people around back. However, it is not because of the hotel. It is due to the proximity to the skytrain station. That is convenient, however, it sometimes comes with unsavory people nearby. That noted, no one touched our vehicle or bothered us in any way.

When I arrived I was met by Shueet, who is super friendly and helpful, almost matching the persona of the mansion. She introduced and explained a lot about the building and the facility. The unit has what we need to feel home.

Great location and space. Loved the kitchen and the big living room was great for my toddler to run around.
Place is so old that it felt a bit dirty, although bed sheets, bathroom, kitchen all looked clean, older parts of the space seemed dusty or not too well kept.

It was a historic building with some of the history available in the suite. Pleasant stay for those who like antique setting and style.
Location was not bad apart from the transient people close to the building. I had to ask a couple to move from the door way when leaving for a morning walk. Had to ask them to move again when I came back. The lighting was not adequate for the hall on my floor and there was an old rolled up carpet further down the hallway.

Arundel Mansions is a quirky, historic building that offers great value for money. You get a huge amount of space with lots of amenities. The bed is comfortable and the unit is extremely clean. The staff are so welcoming and do all they can to ensure you are happy with the apartment. The complimentary bottle of wine is a nice touch!
Older reviews mention mice, but we saw no evidence of mice at all.
Very happy with our stay - acceptable accommodations for half the price of anywhere else in Greater Vancouver, and walking distance to Expo line skytrain, downtown New West and great restaurants and coffee shops.
It's overlooking the skytrain station, which is very convenient, but also quite noisy. Bring earplugs, and it's all good!

The owner, Myrna, was a hoot. We enjoyed hearing her stories and the history of the hotel. The arundel is dripping with history and nostalgia. If you appreciate having a hotel EXPERIENCE, you will probably enjoy your stay. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The hospitality and friendliness are top notch!
The local trains go by every few minutes, and they are pretty loud. If you are sound sensitive, this will be a bad place for you. The hotel is very old and lacks some modern conveniences (e.g., lots of electric outlets). Also, because of its age, some of the infrastructure needs attention (e.g., loose hinges, nail poking up from the floor).

More than 100 years old no update and upgrade, homeless people around the building , the train make noise every 10 minutes can not sleep at all
Bad terrible homeless and drug use around the hotel , we return the keys and left the building at 11.00 pm on 5-25-25 I suggest your company don’t recommend to the other people

Centrally located for transportation, shopping, hotel is a 1910 apartment building, entry, bathroom, kitchen living room, bedroom still have original floors, woodwork, period furniture. Some guests might find the period elevator and bathroom inconvenient.

The suite was spacious and quirky. We liked all of the old touches and enjoyed taking the funky elevator. Although we didn't drink the wine, the gesture was appreciated. It was fun!
Everything was fine. We weren't used to trying to find an outlet for various appliances offered but it worked out.

The old timey feel of the hotel right down to the built in "ice box", the claw foot tub and the very old gravity toilet. Its a little rough around the edges but really enjoyed the originality of the old girl. It's great that it hasn't been remodeled, its like stepping back in time.
Some sketchy street people hanging around the parking lot, the train is noisy for light sleepers, grab ear plugs.

Had hard time getting ahold of person with key, and should have told us about noise of sky train right next to us (offered ear plugs when checking in). Linens in poor conditions, stained and torn. Glasses and cups upside down on shelves, stuck to cabinet, had to re-wash. Parking space next to a homeless camp. Bathtub too high for elderly people to step into. Couch not made up into bed, had to search for linens done up in bath closet in a pillowcase.
