Close to royal Columbia Hosp.
A bit noisy at night due to the tavern below. & road traffic

The carpets were old and dirty. They would definitely need to be replaced.
Also, the room was a bit cold and there was no way to turn off the ceiling fan. Also, they didn’t provide a toothpaste. It’s a cheap but extremely useful and necessary item, so I’m wondering if they could add this to the stuff they put in the bathroom.

The bed was very comfortable. The front desk service was good.
The hairdryer did not work. The walls could do with a paint. There was a musty, horrible smell in the room.

That's a two stars budget hotel. No breakfast offered, but the rooms are large and there is a coffee machines with capsules acaluable in the room.
Also the hals between the rooms have pleasent seatting places to them.
No breakfast offer at all, it's only nect door to s pub.
Also, electricit6 sockets are hidden beneth the desk and probably below the night lamp counter,. I couldnt find it.

Room was huge two beds & plenty of space to move. Located next to Columbia Skytrain station for good public transport. Microwave provided to heat food from supermarkets, take outs etc. Had a physical key to lock room which is unusual but fun. Didn't eat in the attached pub. Coffee maker in room with selection of pods.
Room backed onto Skytrain so some noise - wasn't too loud. No hot water for 1 morning due to furnace breakdown but was fixed for next day.

The location to the SkyTrain, Subway, Bar/Restaurant and Liquor Store
Pay for front facing room, the back rooms don't have a great view! When you're asleep doesn't really matter

Location was very good
Tiles were falling off shower walls, carpet was very old and didn’t appear to be clean. Shower head didn’t have a shower type spray, window mounted AC unit was very noisy all night. Was exactly the same when I stayed there 2 months ago, but location is what I needed

First of all, it had an unbeatable price and it was literally next door to the Skytrain station. The room was big and the hallway in front of the rooms was nice. Staff was kind as well.
I can understand that for that price we couldn’t expect luxury, but basic cleaning could’ve been done properly. There were leftover chips under the bed and dust/dirt on the bathroom floor. The towels were washed, but they were stained in a way that didn’t make them look too inviting for a use. As other people complain, there are a lot of drug addicts in the area, but we never had any issue.

The property is a wonderful older building and the room I had was 3rd floor facing the Fraser River and the view from both my windows was lovely! At night really beautiful :) The lovely lady at the front desk October 1, 2025 was very helpful and she handled more than a few guests at a time efficiently, professionally, and very friendly. She let me know there was a discount at the restaurant next door, and very helpful.
The room was clean enough considering it’s an older historic hotel. One of the bed sheets had stains, the carpets are old, the chair upholstery was worn and if it could be updated it would be such a cool older sheik hotel.. it just needs some extra care but overall with what the management has done it’s a true Gem hotel. :) easy access by Skytrain, bus, car, it’s easy to get around New Westminster to Burnaby, or downtown Vancouver. Good restaurants nearby, stores and Anim Hair Salon.

The condition of the hotel. Owners should spend some their money upgrading the hotel.

We were very surprised to get a room facing the Fraser River & the water front. Spent some time just looking out the window, watching Tug Boat on the river.

The location was in a pretty rough location. The room and building was in worse shape than the pictures.

It was closer to the wharf.
but there were some issues with homelessness. Lots of local decay.

I loved the bed and room size. I loved that there was a window sill big enough to sit on and look at the view. I usually stay for the train convenience and because I feel safe inside the building there. The staff were nice.
The cleaning needs improvement severely. So many surfaces had thick dust from not being wiped down in a long time or hair from other people. The coffee for the kureig wasn't good and I didn't really feel safe going into the neighborhood to grab one at night like I think the latest I went out was to the Circle K at maybe 9 to grab an ice cream even then I was in and out fast. The air conditioner being fixed in the window made me sleep bad from the bad air quality blowing in like I couldn't avoid it so I had to buy allergy medication.
I try not to judge too hard on cleaning staff because I was a housekeeper I get it if the odd things get missed but I could tell even the shower walls hadn't been with a heavy tile cleaner because of the grout and the shower curtain was starting to get the orange stain at the bottom when they haven't been run through in a minute. The carpets were due for a clean because my feet were dark after my showers.
The duvet was thin and old so I had to pull out the spare blanket which also hadn't been washed in awhile.
It was my 3rd stay so I had a comparison to base my experience from my last couple visits.

The service was excellent and the room was decently clean. The price was outstanding for the location and time of year.
The room was very hot, AC did not function, and very, very loud (right over a bar with no sound proofing).

Location by skytrain -- exceptional
fridge, coffee machine (often only green tea) -- these need looking into. None of the issues were enough to warrant bothering the desk staff who were super!
8.0 / 10.0
location was great. stayed there just one night before going on a cruise. You can very easily take the sky train to the hotel and then take the sky train back to the cruise ship. A lot less than a taxi. Some great restaurants in short walking distance and a park on the rive across the street
Poor little air conditioner just couldn't keep up with the heat wave and high ceilings Has been exceptionally hot everywhere so under normal conditions, it would have been just fine

This was a clean, quiet hotel in the heart of new west. The staff were initially a bit rude when I failed to produce a second piece of id, as I thought my credit card and the reservation would be enough. Felt a bit strange to have the front desk agent act hostile to a guest, because they didn't have a second piece of photo id (my car had been towed with my bc id in it, and my temporary drivers license was apparently not real id). Super silly, this is not a border crossing! if I show you my facebook, instagram etc that clearly has pictures of me with a government name in addition to the booking, credit card I booked with, and non-photo government id WITH ALL OF THE PREVIOUS INFORMATION then a lack of common sense is the problem. hotel policy shouldn't cross the lines of common sense. However, When I came back with a second piece of photo id.. they were able to let me into my room. The manager was excellent! Extremely professional, conversational and didn't mind dealing with inquiries I had. This was after a very long day, where I ended up being forced to stay in vancouver last minute. The kindness was appreciated! The other Front desk agent Genesis was very kind and helpful in directing me to good restaurants in the area. This is by far the best value hotel in vancouver.. just make sure you don't have your car towed before you stay here, and leave your one piece of id in the car! that mistake cost me another 100 dollars in cabs, which I paid gladly since the first front desk agent was gonna refuse my reservation if I didn't go to the towing company and get my id two hours after being towed and before my car was ready to pickup!
The initial front desk agent was very defensive and had an issue with me waiting in the lobby while I searched my phone for a piece of photo id that I had copied. She sort of treated me like a homeless person walking in off the street. This is probably a notion that is common place to a hotel located downtown, but I had a booking confirmation and non-photo ids, also the credit card I booked with.

The Met is in a perfect location. Very close to the Sky Train station, several restaurants, and the beautiful pier. I will definitely be returning for another visit!
I have no negatives to speak of. My experience was great during my stay and it was amazing to wake up each morning with the beautiful view of the river. Thank you for having an excellent hotel with affordable prices, I shall be back.

The staff was friendly and the room quit nice.
The biggest inconvenience was the noise and heath. Because of the noise of the skytrain close-by the windows where shut. And had a airco. Which we needed to use because of the heath. The airco was quit noisy, but the room temperature didn't drop much. So we ended up in a stuffy room

Good location close to the Expo line train- Kevin the awesome staff member- light airy rooms. Clean and comfy. Good place to stay
It was a warm day- so we needed to use the air conditioning- it was sadly quite a noisy beast. But this alone wouldn’t stop us coming back
