NEW ROYAL INN

It’s a new hotel so it smells fresh paints. We’re four people stayed for two nights. But it’s not for cooking people though!!

This property is an old office building that's been converted into hotel rooms. There was NO registration desk for check in, NO maid service or other amenities. We had to hunt down someone to get one key (we requested 2), the "office" door on the outside of the building was bolted shut & you entered through a hallway. We needed extra towels, & light bulbs for the bathroom, an extra lamp as there was no light in the bedroom area. You could not walk between the beds & the shower floor was slippery and a hole where it drained was dangerous. The little gal hanging out was pleasant & helpful but it was scary trying to check in with all the doors locked & no notification of what to do or who to call after paying for 3 nights.There were no restaurant's close, no brochures about the area & nobody to direct us anywhere. I never received a lodging receipt for our stay. If we could have found another room on the Labor Day weekend we would not have stayed here. I would not recommend this "hotel"!!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here after driving all the way from Calgary AB. This was a great stay with convenient parking at the back which was free. If we stayed here longer than 3 days it would be perfect as it had dishes and a microwave in the suit. The security on the doors made it feel extra safe as well. Highly recommend!

The staff was super amazing!

Had everything we needed for our family. Lovely little touches such as microwave popcorn made it easy to get unpacked while the kids munched away.

Some of the rooms were still under construction but you would never know. Was clean and quiet within walking distance of many restaurants and the quay.hist was very helpful and attentive

We arrived to the hotel very late, the staff member were very nice and accommodating, she stayed with us and insured everything is ok, then she left.

The room itself and the staff were decent. (Except for a GIANT spider in the room). Very clean and new. There is no front desk at this place so it operates more like an Airbnb. Looks like it’s a renovated office building. They only gave us 1 key, which we unfortunately lost and had to call the manager in the middle of the night to get let back in. They drove from where ever they were to let us in which was nice. Much appreciated, but very strange. Affordable and will stay again. Conveniently located about 15 min walk to sky train.

All else being fairly standard, it was the bed that fell way short. It was so uncomfortable that I barely got any sleep, and could not find a position that did not leave me sore after a short while.

The room itself was very clean and spacious. We were able to check in early. The only thing would be the parking lot could be swept, a bit of garbage and construction debris was present.

Overall all poor. East Indians running the units. One unit smoked pot and went through the venting system on our second day. As a result manager did not have them removed resulting in the system taking 12 hours to clear itself. Asked for a partial refund and was ignored. Units are clean, renovated but not an ideal location. Price reflects that. Great for a single or couple with vehicle. Otherwise not recommended.

There is no lobby or onsite staff. Need to call ahead and provide a specific arrival time so someone can meet you and check you in, which is inconvenient. The communication was good and the person who met us was friendly and courteous. Room was spacious, clean, and seemed recently remodeled but the road outside was noisy.

Affordable and fit my need.

All things were good during my stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. I had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
