Wedgewood Hotel & Spa - Relais & Chateaux

Wonderful welcoming staff (David) and really centrally located for everything you would want to see

Spa was a bit small, but people were excellent

Lovely hotel and staff throughout. Lovely spacious room. We stayed there on floor 4 first of all then returned 2 weeks later and stayed on floor 11 which we preferred. Better view and although the same room it seemed better and hair dryer had a nozzle on it! Melvin the Concierge was especially helpful. Breakfast star was Yuki.

First stay on floor 4 the hairdyrer was really old and had no nozzle so not great for blow drying my hair. Breakfast didn't have enough healthy gluten free items especially GF granola. All the GF options were held in the cooked section of the breakfast menu. Healthy breakfast items were 'made' dishes such as fruit parfait which I couldn't eat due to the wheat content. However Yuki arranged for me to order plain yoghurt (not on the menu) with the most delicious bowl of fruit and GF toast. Coffee was fab.

The staff were incredibly helpful & friendly - couldn’t have been better. The location was amazing, our room was lovely, food was great. Didn’t try the spa but wish I had!

We loved the fireplace greeting you in the lobby. The attached restaurant was sumptuous and luxury old school with a fine dining menu available. Staff were good, although it felt a little like pantomime in terms of the over practise check in Speel.

Absolutely not worth the $700 a night price mark. There was signs about the room with charge costs of more coffee pods available $2 or if the glass water bottle was misplaced $20 replacement. Then the email I got back after requesting two banana put in our room ( we arrived at 1030pm from Australia ) so we had something available to eat- I was asked $35 for a fruit basket. It all felt like they did not care they were already being charged far too much money for the standard room that didn’t even come with breakfast or more than just ONE single baby bottle of moisturiser. It felt like they were not at all gererous of wanting to give the guest anything extra, go the extra mile or win us over at all. The gym was basic and temporary, the balcony in our room was a view of dumpsters, tramps and a dirty laneway. The shower in the bathroom was just a low pressure single head shower spray. We were very disappointed. Moves to the Sutton Hotel after 3 days and loved it there.
