Sigiriya Peacock Homestay

Lovely homestay with comfortable rooms and very hospitable owners. Breakfast was lovely and varied daily. They have very recently built their own swimming pool where you can have a dip and watch the family of monkeys in the nearby trees. Fab environment. Good restaurants in walking distance.

The rooms were so clean and comfortable. The pool was also very clean and refreshing. The family were a delight to stay with. Kemal was so incredibly helpful and welcoming. She gave us great advice on activities and booked us drivers when we needed.

Basic room but exactly what we needed for our three nights in Sigiriya, slightly out of the center which we liked as we got to experience some of the restaurants in Kimbissa. The host family were so so lovely, we could not fault them at all, although some of their English wasn’t amazing they were so welcoming and the breakfasts and dinners were 10/10! We loved their little girl who came up to see us each day :)

Some ants in the bathroom but that’s to be expected when in the middle of the jungle

The swimming pool and the staff was quite nice

The staff offered us a laundry service and they charge us 11kg. We cleaned two more time our clothes and it is only 4-6kg. We felt cheated.
