Cozy cabin-style lodge with a sauna

The WaldhausLodge offers a spacious, rustic cabin atmosphere for two people, with plenty of natural light, comfort, and a bedroom featuring a double bed (200 x 220). A sleeper sofa in the living area can accommodate up to 2 additional guests. The amenities, made primarily from natural materials, include an open-concept kitchen-living area, a wood-burning stove, underfloor heating, a bathroom with a rain shower, handheld showerhead, waterfall shower, and Kneipp hose, as well as bed linens, towels, organic toiletries, espresso beans, LAN, and Wi-Fi upon request. The WaldhausLodge is an extraordinary log cabin made from natural logs, built in a traditional style using local silver fir and oak; next to it is a rustic sauna cabin with a special wood-burning stove. The property is situated in a very quiet location at the end of the small forest settlement of Zwieslerwaldhaus, in the heart of Central Europe’s largest forest and wilderness area and right next to the “Mittelsteighütte” primeval forest. Hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing trails begin right at the lodge, and the ski areas at Großer Arber are about a 15-minute drive away. The host emphasizes experiencing nature, natural building materials, renewable energy, avoiding electromagnetic pollution, Grander water revitalization, and a deliberately low-tech approach—he is a forester and forest expert with a special commitment to the protection of wild forests. The deposit is 100% of the room rate. Check-in is available between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Check-out is available between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Keys are handed over in person on site. IMPORTANT: The Waldhauslodge is a smoke-free property! Loud celebrations and parties would disturb this place of (especially nighttime) tranquility, as well as the people living here and the wildlife. We therefore expressly ask that you enjoy the peace and quiet from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.—outdoors, of course, is also welcome! A carport parking space is available for your vehicle. If you’re arriving by train, please contact us if you need to arrange a pickup at the Ludwigsthal (Haus zur Wildnis). Please arrange the time for check-in, key pickup, and a tour of the Waldhauslodge with us in advance. We’ll be happy to accommodate your preferences as much as possible. SAUNA PRICES (for all lodge guests) per sauna day: First sauna day: 90 EUR; second and subsequent sauna days: 50 EUR each. The sauna can also be booked on-site and paid for in cash by prior arrangement. Pets are not allowed.
