About this cottage rental
The space
The backyard cottage is an architect-designed retreat nestled among tall evergreen trees, thoughtfully integrated into its natural surroundings. The space features a calm Scandinavian / Japandi aesthetic with minimalist design, warm wood tones, and clean lines that create a peaceful, cabin-like atmosphere. Inside you’ll find a bright open-concept living and kitchen area, along with a separate bedroom that offers a quiet and comfortable place to unwind.
Sliding glass doors open from the living room to a covered patio, creating an easy indoor–outdoor connection and allowing you to enjoy the surrounding greenery. The home also includes a modern full bathroom and the convenience of an in-unit washer and dryer located in the bedroom closet.
Guest access
You will have access to the walking path along the property line to the back of the property where the cottage is located.
Other things to note
Backyard ADU Setting – This cottage is a detached ADU located behind the main house. When you arrive you’ll see the primary home from the street; the cottage sits privately in the backyard and faces away for a quiet, secluded feel.
Access Path – Guests reach the cottage via a short walk along the side of the property and down a sloped woodchip path. Because of the terrain, it may be challenging for guests with limited mobility.
Owner Occupied Property – The homeowners live in the front house but keep to themselves. Guests typically have little to no interaction during their stay.
Window Coverings – Blinds are provided in the bedroom and living room. The sliding glass doors near the kitchen/dining area do not have curtains and face a fenced side yard and neighboring backyards.
Parking – There is no off-street parking. Free street parking is usually available within half a block. The driveway may be used briefly for loading and unloading, and longer use may be arranged if needed.
