Aldwark Bridge Glamping - Shepherd's Hut

This is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Not too far from York but enough to get a little relaxing time in the country. The shower inside the hut IS THE BEST WE EVER USED traveling. The shower outside was also great! This place has such a unique feel to it with such lovely hosts. The dogs are super friendly and so cute. The shepherds hut was decorated lovely, and the touches of purples and pinks were also very nice. We were a family of 5, 3 adult kids with us, so a bit tight, but we made it work. The beds very comfy, and the outdoor fire place was pretty cool. It's definitely worth staying for an experience of glamping! I highly recommend this little sweet stay for anyone who wants to be close enough to attractions but also have some quiet restful sleep and relaxing times. The grounds are just lovely as well. The communication with Joanna was awesome, and she really made us feel welcomed. She checked in well before we arrived to ensure our beds and stay were all set, it was really appreciated! You won't be disappointed 😌

The only thing for us, was with 5 adults traveling it was very tight and cramped. But because it was our kids with us, we made it work. Our kids are 21, 25, and 32 so a family younger would be totally fine for a sitting area and comfort.

This was such a cosy and perfectly kitted out stay. I stayed with my 4 children (15,12,10 & 7) and small dog. There was ample beds for us all and although on the tight side space wise internally (this was intended as we were just using it as a base over night for a day out in York) there was ample space outside for the children to play as well as a communal cabin for extra space to play board games or chill out. A beautiful location on the edge of a river with a lovely footpath walk through a golf course to walk my dog.

Personally there wasn't anything really that I didn't like about it - it totally fitted our needs. The only thing I would share that might be relevant to couples or others staying is that it is right next to the Scout Activity centre and there were scouts staying during our visit which were noisy. As a mum of 4 kids this didn't bother me but might people looking for a really peaceful break.

The shepherds hut was very clean and comfortable perfect for our stay .

A few things missing that would have made it even more perfect, mirror in bathroom and some hooks for coats / towels etc .
