A lovely cosy stay on our way up to Scotland. It’s easy to get into York from Alne and the village is so pretty. Mistletoe cottage has everything you need and is lovely and cosy but spacious. We had our two teenagers with us and our third decided not to come last minute, but there would have been plenty of space.

A very comfortable stay to celebrate Xmas part one in beautiful Yorkshire

Everything. Property was fantastic, lovely garden though it was winter so we did not sit outside! The village was beautiful and good location. We had an excellent stay. Really appreciated the Christmas tree and lights .

Pleasant views but not of countryside/Dales or Moors. This was not a “did not like” but an “even better if”. We would definitely return.

A lovely, peaceful retreat.

Lovely location, beautiful cottage which has obviously been well cared for. Very well equipped in terms of crockery etc as well as things like tea, coffee and sugar. The owners also left some bread, milk, eggs and butter which was a lovely touch. Fabulous pub round the corner, we enjoyed it so much that we went there for dinner on two of the three nights of our stay.

A very minor point that the water pressure in the shower was really low but it certainly didn’t affect the quality of our visit.

Stunning cottage, provided everything we could have asked for and in a gorgeous location.

Mistletoe Cottage was the most beautiful place to stay. Everywhere was spotless and so tastefully decorated. Our hosts provided some well appreciated and essential treats on arrival. The whole cottage was extremely comfortable and cosily warm. Jayne met us on arrival to let us in and was easily contactable if we needed her. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it.

There was nothing we didn't like. The only confusing thing on leaving was that we didn't know the code for the key safe, because the number wasn't provided on our booking confirmation. However, I contacted Jayne and all was good.

The location was lovely and quiet. It was close enough to York to get in to the city centre in about 30 minutes. We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The playpark, a short walk away, was a bonus for the children.

Home away from home - everything you could want

The property was wonderful. All the small added touches made it feel like home away from home. A beautiful garden to sit in for drinks or meals. Everything was thought of. Lots of information booklets and plenty of space for a family. It is in a great location for making day trips to York and surrounding areas.

A stylish and comfortable holiday home

Absolutely wonderful property—spotless and beautifully maintained. The furniture is elegant and thoughtfully chosen, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday is right there. We had a fantastic time. Jayne, the host, was lovely—she met us in person to hand over the keys and shared some great local recommendations. In a world of online bookings, it was such a refreshing and personal touch to be welcomed face to face.

A real gem of a house in a quiet village

Beautiful spotless house in a quiet village. Warm and cosy, really comfortable beds and lovely private garden to sit outside. 2 bathrooms with showers, toiletries and lots of towels supplied. Excellent Internet, really well equipped house and lots of information provided about things to do in the area. Also off road parking.

Lovely peaceful and sunny stay

Easy to collect keys, everything was perfect from arrival. Cottage had everything we needed, there was one main bedroom and shower room downstairs and one upstairs, which gave two separate families their own space to shower and sleep. Toys left for children, the weather was perfect so was able to have a bbq in the warm weather.

Beautiful Cottage in Perfect Location.

Mistletoe Cottage was perfect for 6 adults offering spacious living and sleeping space, whilst maintaining a cosy feel. The immaculate walled garden was a perfect space to enjoy the unusually sunny April weather that we had. The cottage's location was perfect for getting into York City centre, with a 30 minute bus ride, a 2 minute walk away. Finally, we were really appreciative of the provisions that our hosts left for our stay. I can honestly say that we have never been left that much on a self catering stay! We will definitely be visiting again

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful house

The host had included all we could possibly need and everything was of high standard. The location was in a quiet village with friendly neighbours. We used all the bedrooms and all had very comfortable beds, one being ensuite and the other two were served by a shared shower room. The comfortable sitting room and kitchen area looked out onto a beautifully kept garden and patio area with furniture. We had beautiful weather so were able to enjoy the garden every day.

Enveloped in the warmth of Mistletoe Cottage

Mistletoe Cottage is an utter delight, a little oasis in the fast paced life we live. It is so charismatic, cosy and comfortable. We couldn’t wait to come back to the cottage having explored York in the daytime. Jayne is so welcoming and helpful. The cottage is so well resourced and there are so many unique areas in the cottage suitable for all the family. We loved playing dominoes at the table and waking up to the cheeping birds. It was so sad leaving but we hope to be back soon. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

A lovely holiday at Mistletoe Cottage

Jayne met us on arrival and had provided lovely provisions (tea, coffee, milk, bread etc.) which were most welcome after our journey! The cottage is located within a beautiful village with a playpark close by which we visited several times with our children. The locals are extremely friendly and stopped to let our girls interact with their dogs and horses. The cottage was beautifully decorated, comfortable and we all enjoyed the lovely garden. The information provided was really helpful and we enjoyed meals in a few of the recommended local pubs. We also visited the local coffee shop. Jayne's advice of using the Park and Ride to visit York was really good. It's very reasonable and easy to use.

A fantastic break in a beautiful cottage.

The hosts were lovely and welcoming. They live next door! Everything was perfect. We had great days out in Knaresborough, York and trekking in Nidderdale with llama and alpaca.

Comfortable cottage, home from home.

The property was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. We really appreciated the welcome pack with milk, bread, butter, eggs and tea cakes. Also tea, coffee , sugar and condiments were included. The location was great and there is a lovely well maintained garden. Jayne met us on arrival and gave us lots of information on things to do, etc. The information pack in the cottage was very thorough too. we would definitely recommend this property and would stay again.
