We were three friends catching up before Christmas. Lovely that we all good enjoy our own comfortable en-suite room but

We loved how warm and comfortable the property is. It is so well equipped and the Christmas decorations and tree were a lovely surprise. Jayne and Eddie were so welcoming. This was my third stay at the Old Post Office, I’m sure we will be back.

Very homely, comfy beds, we were left all the essentials and the Christmas tree was amazing. The bus stop just outside the Bluebell Bell pub was handy for going into York.

A very relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the country.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, the hosts were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, on hand for any information if required. The location was just perfect, a beautiful village with a bus route passing through, which was handy for visiting York and Thirsk.

Exceptional

The Old Post Office was in a gorgeous village. Jayne was a gracious host and she had thought of everything you could need to feel home from home, including shower gel and shampoo which is really above and beyond! The property was squeaky clean, comfortable and all of beautiful North Yorkshire was easily accessible. Jayne put together a very useful guide for attractions in the area. All in all a 5 star visit thank you to our hosts.

Stunning property located in a beautiful, quiet village just outside York. Plenty of space for a family of four, with two teenage boys. The hosts had thought of everything and the finish around the property was exceptional. Would highly recommend.

It is not our first time here Jane and Eddie are a lovely couple there home is impeccable it's always a pleasure to stay there it's beautiful gorgeous location and always a welcome pack very friendly and lovely couple the accommodation is second to none spotless

There is absolutely nothing I did not like from start to finish I can not wait to go back y daughter and son in law loved it my grandson always loves going he loved it he loves the big grandfather clock in the hall lol

Lovely Ok place to stay

Lovely comfy beds and living area. It had everything we needed and the owners were lovely.

My husband complained at the lack of space to move around the kitchen but overall it was a lovely stay. The accomodation is an annex on the back of a house which isn't necessarily clear from the pictures but it is very nicely done

Quality comfortable home in a beautiful village setting - great helpful host and well equipped and easy access to York via the local bus - the all en-suite rooms suits groups of friends like us

A couple of our group found the beds a little soft but that’s obviously personal choice and a downstairs loo would have been a perfect addition but not a hassle

An immaculately clean and beautiful accommodation in a beautiful little village 20 minutes from york. Well presented everything you would need is provided. Lovely hosts. All information provided. Very comfortable beds. 3 bathrooms was amazing welcome pack on arrival. Exactly as stated. You definitely need a car. Nearest supermarket 3 miles away. You will not be disappointed staying here

I liked the bedrooms that had there own bathrooms so no sharing And the kitchen diner was equipped with all you needed. Very comfortable and relaxing.

It was to far out as we didn't drive, it was very hard to get a taxi at any time, had to leave property at 10 am but the bus wasn't due till 11.10. And being a bank holiday and raining there were no taxis available. So had no choice but to wait for the bus, that was actually on time.

A very enjoyable short break to celebrate a family birthday. We went away with happy memories.

We really enjoyed our three day stay at this lovely property. The accommodation is just as described with space to park one car on the driveway and further parking available on the quiet street for other vehicles. Everything in the house is top quality, especially the beds as we all had excellent nights sleep. Cleanliness throughout was to a very high standard. The kitchen and dining area was a good size for our party of five adults and one two year old. A high chair was provided and this again was of top quality. The hosts were friendly and available but not intrusive. Each bedroom had en-suite facilities which was a real bonus. Situated on a quiet street in a rural village with easy access to a children's play area which our granddaughter loved. It's a short distance by car to Easingwold if you need provisions, take-aways etc. We used the Rawcliffe Bar Park and Ride a few miles down the A19 to access York. We also spent a very interesting morning at the York Bird of Prey Centre which is fascinating and has knowledgeable, humorous and helpful staff. We thoroughly recommend this property.

The location was superb, the property was excellent, and very close to York. Food at nearby pubs was very good value and superb. The hosts live next door and are exceedingly friendly and helpful. we enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to visiting again.

The Old Post Office Alne

Lovely cottage. Everything was excellent and the accommodation was beautifully equipped with high quality appliances. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuites were done to a very high standard. It was a lovely location and ideal for visiting our family in York and Boroughbridge.

Nothing really...except it was almost too good!!!We had a 2 and 5 year old and felt a little nervous and unsettled in case anything was damaged or broken!!!!!! Lovely stay though and the local children's playground was delightful.

A perfect place to stay.

The house was perfect: clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The beds were heavenly and it was lovely to have an en-suite with each bedroom. Everything we needed was there, with extra touches such as bread, milk, eggs and butter. There were even fresh flowers on the table.
