My Bukit Lawang Guest House

The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The guesthouse was very clean throughout my stay, and check-in was easy and hassle-free. The location was excellent, especially for anyone visiting Bukit Lawang for trekking. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced, although the menu was fairly basic. They also offered good, inexpensive fresh juices. The air conditioning worked very well, and the bathroom was clean with a powerful shower. Laundry service was also available at a great price (50,000 IDR for 2.5kg).

The biggest downside was the bed, which was unfortunately the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. On the first night, there was loud music from a nearby local karaoke bar that continued until after midnight. This isn't ideal when many visitors are getting up early for jungle treks. I mentioned this to the owner, who was understanding and explained that they also receive complaints about the noise and find it frustrating. Fortunately, the noise only happened on the first night and was not an issue during the rest of my stay. Overall, this is a very clean, affordable place with fantastic staff and a great location. If the beds were improved, it would be an excellent place to stay.
