About this cottage rental

Escape to The Pink House, a unique Suffolk timber-framed cottage set within private lawns and woodland. Full of rustic charm, it features a vaulted beamed ceiling, inglenook fireplace and a woodland viewing platform for sundowners. Recently refurbished, it offers a peaceful countryside retreat with walks and cycling from the doorstep, while Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham, Newmarket and Cambridge are all nearby. Guests receive a complimentary welcome basket with fresh milk, eggs, bread and butter.
The space
The open-plan living and dining area offers a warm and inviting space to relax, featuring cosy seating gathered around the fireplace and a spacious dining area with seating for up to six guests — perfect for relaxed family meals or evenings spent together after a day exploring the countryside.

THE SPACE
The cottage also features a beautifully handcrafted newly fitted kitchen, thoughtfully equipped with a fridge freezer, dishwasher, traditional butler sink, and modern electric induction hob and oven — providing everything needed for relaxed and comfortable self-catering stays.
Upstairs, the cottage offers two charming bedrooms. The master double bedroom features a beautiful wooden sleigh bed, stunning views across the lawns, and a characterful bay window overlooking the surrounding woodland — creating a peaceful and relaxing retreat.

The twin bedroom is situated on a charming mezzanine level overlooking the living area below, with heavy curtains that can be drawn to provide complete privacy and create a cosy, secluded space.
Please note that the cottage is a traditional Suffolk property full of character and original period features. As such, there are a number of low beams and doorways throughout, along with steep stairs leading to the upstairs bedrooms, which may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or very young children.
A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome. To be kept downstairs only and certainly not in beds please. Please pick after your dogs and keep on a lead at all times.

GUEST ACCESS
Guest parking is clearly marked beside the wooden gate at the far left-hand side of the driveway. To access the Pink House, please go through the wooden gate (keeping it closed at all times) and follow the paved path to the front door. Sensor light will guide you during hours of darkness. Please keep to the path.
Guests will have use of the whole property, the immediate lawn area in front of the house and a parking space (a further space may be available on request). You are welcome to come and go as you please and will have access to your own keys.

Other things to note
The Pink House is set just 50 metres from your parking area, offering a peaceful sense of privacy while still being easy to reach.
Guests reach the Pink House via a charming winding path that gently leads you through the grounds, setting the tone for a relaxing stay. The property sits within beautiful gardens, blending open lawns with tranquil woodland for a truly natural and restful setting.
You may also occasionally spot our two friendly dogs and cat enjoying the grounds.
One of the bedrooms is on a mezzanine level so please note this when booking for young children etc.
