About this house rental
The interiors are decorated in eclectic style and to the finest detail: from the colourful kitchen to the all-white living room, the house combines pieces by contemporary Greek artists with traditional touches, creating a feeling that is at once homey and surprising. Some of the most breathtaking views on the island — stretching across the valley to the islands of Kea and Syros — complete the picture. Ideal for large groups, two families, or anyone simply looking to slow down, unwind and soak in the endless Aegean blue.
The estate comprises two buildings connected by a beautifully paved covered terrace, plus an independent room tucked behind the main house — all gathered around a large private pool that seems to hang from the cliff above the Aegean. The entire property sleeps up to 12 and is rented exclusively as a whole.
MAIN HOUSE
The ground floor offers a bright open-plan kitchen, a comfortable living room and dining area, a guest WC, and a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and double bed. Adjoining it is a second room with two single beds, sharing the master en-suite — ideal for children or a third guest. Upstairs, a second double bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and a stunning covered veranda with uninterrupted sea views.
GUEST ANNEXE
The ground floor has a living area with two single beds, a kitchenette and a full bathroom. Upstairs, a double bedroom shares the ground floor bathroom. Note: the ground floor of the annexe is the only space without air conditioning.
INDEPENDENT ROOM
Behind the main buildings, a fully independent bedroom with a double bed and a beautifully renovated en-suite bathroom. No sea view, but complete privacy — ideal for guests who want their own space.
OUTDOORS
The pool area is the heart of the estate: a large private pool (open May–October) with a covered lounging and dining area, an outdoor shower and a full bathroom. The two buildings share a spacious covered terrace — the perfect spot for breakfast, long lunches or an evening glass of wine with that view. All bedrooms have air conditioning. The property has central heating for winter stays.
THE AREA
Koumari sits on the northwest side of Andros, above Gavrio — perfectly placed to explore the island without ever feeling far from home base. Golden Beach and Agios Petros are just 10 minutes away — organised, family-friendly, with beautiful clear water. Fellos, one of our personal favourites, is a vast unspoilt stretch of sand with natural shade and a wonderful taverna beside it. For something more remote, the beaches of Vitali and Zorkos on the northeastern coast are worth every minute of the 20–30 minute drive.
The village of Batsi, the island's liveliest spot, is just 15 minutes away — perfect for an evening out with waterfront tavernas and bars. Further afield, Chora is one of the most elegant capital towns in the Cyclades, with world-class museums, a Venetian castle and the iconic Tourlitis lighthouse.
For day-to-day needs, Gavrio has supermarkets, a pharmacy, ATMs and excellent breakfast spots — everything you need, five minutes from the door.
