The property was clean and tidy and in a nice quiet location

A little nosy until closing time, but nothing too much to worry about.

Location ideal for our needs, room fine comfortable mattress gave us a good sleep friendly bar, pub meals very tasty curry

Don't cater for breakfast which we knew but 5 minutes away to Palmers not a problem

A lovely Inn located in Lower Odcombe, about a mile or so from the village of Montacute. The accommodation is in an extension to the rear of the pub section of the premises. Further to the rear is a small camping site. There is a small “beer” garden alongside the accommodation extension.

The corridor to the bedrooms has a couple of short flights of stairs. One of these sets of stairs has an uneven drop which can and does cause people to stumble/trip. The en-suite toilet in our room (room 4) the water fails to stop running when the toilet cistern is full and continues to drip. Not a problem until the “ quiet” hours in the early morning when it can be like a water torture (even with the en-suite door shut). We stayed in the same room two months ago and I made staff aware of this but it continues to drip. A new development this time is with the same toilet is the cistern fails to refill at normal speed because the valve float jams up and the water just slowly drips. Whilst on the subject of water, there is what I would describe as a water hammer effect in the water pipes in the accommodation area. This hammering noise can happen at any time night or day. Again not a real problem during the day but at night if you are trying to sleep, well good luck! I also mentioned this to staff a couple of months ago and was informed it was caused by the tap/water valve on the showers in the campsite shower block!
