Cottage on the hill

Excellent cottage lovely location

It was as if the hosts had never really left their own cottage. Their (very) personal belongings were everywhere. Their toothbrushes and other toiletries were in the bathroom. My husband and I slept in the Master bedroom, which had boxes and baskets with madam's panties and other undergarments sticking out. There was hardly any room left for me to open my suitcase, since there was a free standing clothes rack with her clothes that filled up quite a bit of space. When we were looking for something in one of the kitchen cupboards we stumbled upon the host's passport. At one point I needed to use the dryer, but it was filled with her clothes, So I ended up folding her G-strings, bras and clothes into a laundry basket. When we booked the cottage we expected an 'empty' holiday accomodation, at least free from the owners stuff. We've been to dozens of holiday accomodations over the years both in Ireland as in other various countries, but we've never experienced anything like this. I can imagine other guests would be absolutely fine with this, and that's perfectly okay. It's just that we weren't prepared for, or expecting this. Had we known, we wouldn't have booked the cottage. Not trying to be mean here. Just giving an honest account of how we experienced our stay. After staying at this cottage we've visited four more holiday homes and cottages throughout Ireland all of which were outstanding, exceedeed our expectations and were awarded with 10 out of 10 reviews.
