Terrapin Station Retreat is a freshly customized, Grateful Dead-inspired hideaway sitting on 3 private acres in Burdett, NY — right in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country. It's quirky, it's comfortable, and it's unlike anything else you'll find — and yes, your four-legged friends are welcome too.
Come for the vibes, stay for the views. Whether you're planning a weekend escape, a remote work retreat, or a longer stay to really soak in the Seneca Lake scene. We created Terrapin Station Retreat as our own version of a “Terrapin Station”—a place not just on a map, but a state of mind. Inspired by the spirit behind the Terrapin Station by The Grateful Dead, it represents an escape from the noise of everyday life into something deeper, more meaningful, and restorative.
The Space
Step inside and feel it — that immediate shift when a space just gets you. Terrapin Station hums with personality, layer upon layer of it. A vintage 1970s hi-fi stereo and turntable anchor the room, ready to set whatever mood you're chasing. Drop a record, pour a glass of Seneca Lake wine, and let yourself settle into something slower. Every piece of furniture, every brushstroke of most art on the walls comes from a local artist or a friend with a story. The wood throughout the home was reclaimed, the décor rescued and reimagined — saved from landfills and given a second life here. Nothing in this space is accidental. Everything has a past, and now it's part of yours.
