About this cabin rental
Wake up to beautiful scenery and the serenity of lapping waves, at Seneca Secrets on Seneca Lake, in beautiful upstate New York, 35 minutes outside of Ithaca.
Seneca Secrets is located off of Rt 414, the main road that goes around Seneca Lake, 5 minutes from Watkins Glen. The cabin is located in the heart of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, overlooking the lake. You can see the lake from our living room, with an amazing view from the deck!
The cottage is completely furnished including dishes, silverware, coffee maker, pots and pans.
Step outside the cottage and enjoy a picnic, a relaxing swim, or take a short drive and minutes away you will find that Seneca Secrets is surrounded by wineries, restaurants, waterfalls and the National Forest, great for biking & hiking. There is also a rustic fire pit for roasting marshmallows.
Seneca Secrets includes a private beach on the property, just follow the stairs down to the water (just past our firepit)! Please note, the walkway to the beach has uneven shale. Enjoy our private beach area. You will see, "4297 Beach" signs, as you go down to the water.
There are 2 docks, down by the water for you to sit and relax, but please note, we do not allow any type of boat/jet ski to be tied up to either one (see Rental Agreement Rules & Policies).
We have 2 kayaks, down by the water, for your use, please ensure wear the life jackets provided.
We are well off the main road and do have parking for a boat trailer if needed (please ask where to park boat trailer and be good at K Turns). There are other people that own property on the road, so it is important to ask us where you can park your trailer.
Seneca Lake offers great swimming, boating, fishing, water sports, sun, and breathtaking sunsets. We are ideally located in the heart of New York State's Finger Lakes, just minutes away from the area's premier vineyards, restaurants and local towns such as Penn Yan, Geneva, or Watkins Glen.
Whether you are looking for a long weekend with family and friends, or a romantic getaway, Seneca Secrets offers a tranquil setting after a day on the water or a quiet retreat after an all-day outing.
Please note, we have a sloping gravel/shale driveway that requires all-wheel or 4WD drive. There are water runoff bumps down our driveway, so you will want to drive under 10 MPH.

This property was incredible! Fit 4 gals and a doodle perfect. Had everything you need. Loved that it was in nature but had a bougie deck and private dock! AC kept us cool on very hot days. Close to everything. It's Seneca's best kept secret!

Check in was a breeze, and communication was great with quick responses to questions. Nice little house in the woods with fabulous lake views. The house was very clean upon arrival and fit our needs. A couple suggestions would be to add an exhaust fan in the bathroom, an upgrade to the shower, and a place to hang jackets/coats by the front door. We enjoyed our stay, watching sunsets and fishing from the dock. One review mentioned the neighbors sharing a front yard, and I agree it would be a little awkward if they were there and you wanted to have a campfire because it almost feels like you are on the other property. Otherwise it is a nice place that provides a quiet beautiful retreat. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Wonderful stay! Comfortable, clean, and cozy cottage right on Seneca Lake, exactly as advertised. The beautiful deck overlooking the lake is completely enclosed, allowing my dog to be off-leash out there with me. A great little place in a gorgeous, fun area. Highly recommend!

Positives. Location and view, responses from Stacy. Negatives. Stated it had a dock, but could not tie a boat to it. Water supply came straight from the lake. No washer & Dryer. No smoke alarm. Beam into kitchen is 6’1”. I’m 6’3”. OUCH.
Blame myself for negatives. Should have asked more questions before I booked, just took for granted what I have come to expect from VRBO
