Muckoroos Cottage Historic Flint Cottage

The cottage was in an excellent location close to the beach, shops and pubs. Bus stop nearby to Margate Broadstairs etc. The cottage had everything needed for a comfortable stay and the courtyard was a bonus.

The steep spiral staircase could be a challenge for someone with mobility issues but this is stated in the property information.

Beautiful property - can’t recommend enough for a stay in ramsgate.

It was all great.

* Communication with the owner was excellent from start to finish. * The kitchen was clean and well-equipped with most of the essentials. * A fan was provided in the bedroom, which was appreciated. * The garden was secure, making it suitable if you’re travelling with a dog. * The accommodation is in a quiet area with no noise issues. * Although parking is tight, we were able to park directly outside the property.

* The mattress was uncomfortable, you can feel the springs. Resulting in poor-quality sleep and partner sleeping on the sofa instead. * The property would benefit from some general maintenance and redecorating, including fresh paint (dirty walls, wires on show, damaged coffee table, thread bare cushions) * We found a few basic kitchen/bathroom essentials missing, including toilet roll, oven gloves, toaster and a tin opener. * The overgrown alleyway leading to the property could do with being cut back. This is your first impression and it’s poor. * The garden furniture was in poor condition. * The garden itself needs some attention – it was overgrown with weeds, needed sweeping, and there was an empty vodka bottle being used as decoration, which felt a little odd. It’s not a nice relaxing area to use. * A downstairs lamp would make the living area feel much more comfortable in the evenings. * The air freshener plug-ins were empty and left plugged in, which seems unnecessary and could be a potential fire hazard!! We also think these may have been the source of the unusual smell in the house. * The floorboards upstairs are loose, they move significantly when you step on them and the carpet has dipped. * The stairs are extremely steep. While there is a photo in the listing, they feel much steeper in person and the rope handrail doesn’t offer much support. A clearer warning would be helpful, particularly for anyone with mobility issues. * The bathroom would benefit from a shelf for toiletries.
