About this house rental

Courtyard Hideaway is a delightful cottage in the small hamlet of Clappersgate, less than a mile from the town of Ambleside. Set in the Clappersgate courtyard (once the farm buildings for the Croft Manor House) which still stands behind the cottage today.


The cottage is open plan throughout, tastefully decorated and beautifully presented. Guests also have the use of a shared riverside garden just over the road with a seating area and picnic bench.


On entering the property you can see that a lot of thought has gone into the layout, the open kitchen, bedroom and living area has everything you need for a comfortable stay. A king size bed and sofa provide a lovely area to relax around the wood burner and plan your day's activities. The Smart TV marries the old and the new, with exposed oak beams and Velux windows, there is a real sense of space.


The modern kitchen is fully equipped with all that you will require, including a dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a washing machine. A small breakfast bar and seating divides the space from the living area.


Just off the living area and up a few steps is the fantastic contemporary bathroom, with marble tiles from floor to ceiling, a large walk-in shower and a backlit anti-fog mirror.


Adding an extra touch of luxury there is underfloor heating throughout the property, very handy to keep those feet warm and cosy.


Less than a mile away is the bustling market town of Ambleside which has a large selection of restaurants, bars and shops and is easily accessible by a paved footpath along the river. Here you can also catch one of the ferries and head up to Windermere for a day of exploring.


If you fancy a spot of walking the cottage is nestled just below Loughrigg Fell, providing magnificent walks with stunning vistas over the national park.


Courtyard Hideaway is the perfect property for a couple to relax and explore the Lake District national park.

Parking for one car is directly outside the property.


Up to 2 dogs are welcome at Courtyard hideaway Cottage.


NB: Although the property is on one level there are 2 steps up to the bathroom. Logs for the wood burner are not provided, but can be purchased locally.
