Wayside Cottage Clappersgate Ambleside

Great house for our walking holiday. Very well equipped and comfortable. Excellent access to nearby lakes/walks. Two parking places was a definite bonus. Agents were great and responded immediately when we needed some help with the washing machine.

The property we knew was close to the road, but it was a little noisier than we had realised at times.

Exceptionally well equipped Cottage - certainly the best we have stayed in. Logs very much appreciated. Very surprised to receive a quality bottle of Prosecco and box of biscuits which made us smile. Kitchen goes above and beyond with plenty of crockery and cutlery. Clean Characterful History of the Cottage interesting with links to Wordsworth. Path right outside takes you up to Loughrigg Fell via Todd Crag - fantastic walk! Short walk to Ambleside good for morning dog walk Parking for two cars just a few metres from the cottage and we were able to park outside the cottage to unload and load the car at start and end of trip.

Nothing However, Warning for anyone 6’ and over that this is an old cottage with low doorframes so banging of head to be expected 😅 Also, no garden so have to be dressed to take the dog out first thing.

Amazing stay, ideally located with Ambleside being a short walk away, but quiet and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Warm cosy and very homely, everything you needed was there. Great kitchen, lovely rooms, especially the one on the top floor with a tv for the kids! Also great to have a dedicated parking space. We couldn’t have found a better place to spend Christmas, the hosts even provided a bottle of fizz and turkey roasting tin! Loved it.
