Store muddy boots in the porch and go through to the sitting room, with exposed brickwork, wooden beams, a wood burner in the inglenook fireplace, and Freeview TV/DVD. Chill out and watch TV in the snug or set up the sofa bed and turn it into a bedroom. Prepare and enjoy meals together in the gorgeous, spacious kitchen/diner; there’s also a handy utility room and a shower room on the ground floor. The three pretty bedrooms are off the beamed landing: a large double with room for a cot, a twin, and a bunk room with full-size bunk beds; plus, there’s a family bathroom. Grab your lunch and take it out to the picnic bench on the lawn or fire up the BBQ on the patio, relax and enjoy the wonderful views.

Explore the rolling hills and historic villages on walks from the door. The house is 1 mile outside the small village of Groes, 4 miles from Denbigh and 12 miles from Ruthin. Snowdonia National Park is 15 miles away and the Clwydian Range is 8 miles east. Check out the mountain bike trails at Llandegla bike park (23 miles) and Clocaenog forest (12 miles). Llyn Brenig (6 miles away) has family cycling, fishing and water sports, there’s also a cafe and a great kids play area there.
