Secluded Log Cabin escape

Lovely secluded private cabin with everything you can want the touch of computer games is a brilliant idea if you had kids.

First time staying in a cabin and it was amazing, comfortable, cosy, peaceful, clean, even smelt wonderful, nice little touches. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Wycombe would defooo recommend here. The pictures don’t lie at all. Lol. Host was very welcoming, and very good with communication through out. 10 out of 10. We will be back for sure. Thank you again for our stay xx

The kitchen area was quite well equipped, though no kitchen scissors, and although there was plastic kids’ cutlery, there were no plastic bowls/plates/cups. The property looked nice inside. There was a fan in each bedroom - as we were there during a heatwave, these were essential! Beds were comfy - good mattresses. Good amount of drawers for storage in bedrooms. Not much hanging space though. It was nice that some games were provided.

We had no idea until we arrived that the lodge was situated at the top of someone’s back garden. Parking was shared and limited. Lock box to open to get key to open side gate (only entrance), key to be returned to lock box. Once through the gate, there’s another lock box to open to get the key to lock the gate, key to be returned to lock box. You then walk down the side of the property and through the back garden. The majority of times we entered/left, the owners were in the garden, including in their pool, which is right next to the path you have to walk along - it makes you feel quite uncomfortable and like you’re trespassing. The path is also pretty steep, so not ideal if you have heavy/lots of bags, or if mobility is an issue. The lodge is separated from the rest of the garden by means of a solid fence and gate. It has a nice bit of garden with lots of trees (which meant lots of lovely birdsong), the drawback being that two sides of the lodge don’t get much by way of breeze. This isn’t helped by the fact the windows only tilt inwards slightly, and barely past the window frame, so there is very little, if any, air movement through the windows. The WiFi was quite patchy and often didn’t work with either of our phones, making it difficult to communicate with others to make plans. The drainage in the shower was really bad. Initially I assumed it was due to a clogged drain. When I lifted the drain cover, there was certainly a lot of hair and gunk, but even when I removed it all, drainage was still very slow and water was seeping to the rest of the bathroom. Seemed to be as a result of the gradient of the slope of the tiles not being steep enough for the water to flow to the drain properly.
