The Hanseatic City of Wismar levies a visitor’s tax/overnight stay tax of 5% on the travel price of the booked accommodations. This is not included in the travel price and will be billed separately upon booking. Since the visitor’s tax/lodging tax is not based on the number of guests, guests of the Hanseatic City of Wismar will not be issued a visitor’s card.

The historic old town of Wismar has been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. Historic buildings, the market square, churches, and museums invite you to visit and linger in this beautiful city. No matter what time of year, you’ll experience unforgettable moments in Wismar or on the Baltic Sea.
In addition to the city’s sights, you might also want to visit the Baltic Sea resorts of Boltenhagen, Kühlungsborn, Rerik, or the island of Poel. The city of Schwerin, with its own attractions, is just under 40 km away.

Which attractions can we recommend:
Wismar’s market square, about a 5-minute walk toward the city center. Here you’ll find Wismar’s city hall. The following churches are located nearby: St. Mary’s Church, St. George’s Church, St. Nicholas’ Church, and Holy Spirit Church.
Heading toward Wismar’s Old Harbor, you’ll find: The Wismar Armory, the Wassertor, the vaults at the Old Harbor, and the Poel cog “Wissemara” in the harbor.
Other attractions: Schabbellhaus, phanTECHNIKUM, the “Wonnemar” water park, and the Wismar Zoo.

Directions [&] Parking
Since you are right in the center of Wismar, parking is only available on Lübschen Straße and requires payment at the parking meter. A free public parking lot is available on Lübschen Straße, heading out of town toward the shipyard, about a 500-meter walk away.
