Pelican Pointe Home for 10

The location was perfect. We wanted to do birding. This location gave us easy access to many of the Bolivar Flats bird sanctuaries. An added bonus is that some of the migrating birds rested in the home’s surrounding lands. The house itself was perfectly appointed to meet our needs. The Keurig gave us our morning coffee. The washer and dryer gave us clean clothes for the rest of our trip. And the nearby restaurants offered amazing local shrimp, crawfish, and oysters.

The home itself was beautiful and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Unfortunately, the issue with the golf cart and host communication is the reason for my lower rating. The golf cart was a major selling point when we booked, especially since the nearest beach required a drive. When we arrived, the keys were nowhere to be found. After contacting the host, we were told the golf cart was optional and not included with our stay. However, my wife and I reviewed the listing multiple times and did not see anything indicating it was an add-on. The listing was later updated on June 6, the day we checked in, to include golf cart rental information. No accommodation, discount, or apology was offered. Instead, the response was that the listing was accurately represented and that the golf cart was clearly presented as an optional rental, which did not match what we saw at the time of booking. Communication was also frustrating because multiple hosts were involved — Brooke, Richie, Emily, and Regine — rather than having one clear point of contact. When the issue was raised, it felt like we were being overwhelmed by multiple responses instead of having one person work toward a resolution. Overall, the property is beautiful, but the golf cart situation and communication experience negatively impacted our stay.
