The staff were great and the tuk tuk service excellent. Sam was a great host. He actually sent his personal car to pick me up when my ride broke down with car problems 2 hours drive from Arugam bay. I was so grateful for that. I recommend the Saffron as a great place to stay.

Value for money is the best property in Arugambay for Genius customers.
The owners Mr.Sam very nice Young Boss and were very helpful and allowed us to choose the room that suited us best.
He suggestion here to buy fruit, where to eat well without spending millions of coins. He made a Kumana Safari Tour for which we are very grateful. 🙂
And there breakfast is various typical sri lankan salty foods and we love it 💚

The high review score is not right, the place is definitely not a high 9 score. I had to do work at my laptop and because no table, chair in the room, I sat out side where also breakfast was going to be served. Everyone around me was served breakfast , except me- obviously i was made aware that I should not be there with my laptop so I decided to go and have breakfast else where. No big deal. When I got back though, Sam the manager wanted me to cancel my booking.com booking. He was afraid I would put a bad review in, as not having been served breakfast. He pushed money into my hand - 1500- for breakfast and booking fees.( which I left in the room). He then waited in front of my room, trying to get me to cancel the booking- which I denied. After I left he also send me a message that I had to cancel the booking. Fully unacceptable. Booking.com send me a message asking if I stayed or not as he told them that I did not stay. Anyway, the review score is easily manipulated- just for who ever reads this is now aware.
Lots of noise from the next door properties. Window looking out at the gallery, so needs to keep curtains closed as everyone can look inside. No kettle in the room. No where allowed to work on the laptop. Manipulating manager
