The garden with the view over the beach was fantastic. It's right next to Smoke and Bitters, so you get a slightly better view without the expensive meal... The location is handy to the beach, two minutes walk down the driveway to the beach with the bars and restaurants at Dickwella, but also walkable to Hiriketiya and the shops in Dickwella if you're keen. The room was really large, with heaps of room to spread out and sort through my stuff. The staff were really helpful and there was always someone around if you needed anything at all. The breakfast was great every morning, and the mango and passionfruit juice I had one morning has made me invest in a mango tree so I can have it more often.

My room was out the back, so didn't benefit from the verandah that the other rooms did. I did think it was going to be noisy because it faced the kitchen area but that wasn't a problem at all.

It’s a gem! It’s conveniently located next to Smoke and Bitters, a popular spot with a fantastic view of the ocean. Tommy, the host, is a cool and friendly guy. His dogs, Shadow and Blackie, were adorable. Although we only stayed for one night, we wish we had extended our stay. Tommy went above and beyond to help us arrange seating at Smoke and Bitters, a place that’s almost always booked a few days in advance. His place offers stunning ocean views and a cozy atmosphere. We could even see the beautiful sunset by the beach just a few steps away. We woke up early for a peaceful morning walk, which was a wonderful experience.

The place we stayed was comfortable for the price we paid. It wasn’t a luxury stay, but it was good value for money, especially with the wonderful views and easy access to the beach - it was wonderful!

The location is perfect. Away from the hustle and bustle of Herikitiya but with a perfect beach view. The sunsets were amazing. And the beach is vast, very quiet and tranquil with bars and restaurants. Hiriketiya is a short walk or tuk tuk ride away. The room was very large. It’s quite basic but has everything you need including air con. The staff were really lovely and helpful. They did some washing for us and the boy that served breakfast every day was so sweet and attentive. The bar next door, smoke and bitters, looked great but was fully booked both days so you need to book very far ahead to enjoy that but there are other bars and restaurants to enjoy on the beach.

Only complaint was the bathroom door was hard to open and close.

Location amazing across from beautiful beach. Lovely outdoor lounging area. Some nice staff.

Room 3 has no hot water, mould patches and roof leaked water onto bed when it rained (while I was sleeping in it)
