Wonderful staff, very spacious house, nice setting, great service (jeep and food)

The building has some overdue maintenance.

Beautiful nature setting, so quiet and peaceful and cool! Lots of nature around to explore! The surrounding Eucalyptus forest is stunning! The hosts were wonderful! The restaurant next door was delicious! The house was rustic and quaint. A perfect stop before an early morning at Horton Plains. If you aren't expecting luxury, this is a great place!

Wifi didn't work, but it may have been user error.

Het huisje is groot. Voldoende warme dekens op de bedden. Gastvrouw maakte lekker eten tegen heel schappelijke prijs. Ze haalden ons gratis af van het station, een fijne service!

Er is te weinig lamplicht, te weinig stopcontacten, je struikelt over de mat en het is er koud (geen chauffage). Er is een gastoestel, maar geen potten, pannen en borden.Ze regelden vervoer naar de start van Horton's plains. Dat bleek een aftandse jeep te zijn met natte achterzetels en een zeil dat niet helemaal dichtkon (waardoor we verkleumd aan de wandeling begonnen). We vergaten de prijs te vragen en moesten dan 10.000 roepies betalen. Een hoog bedrag voor een korte rit in zo'n voertuig (ook al moest hij 3 uur wachten). Ze regelden ook vervoer naar Arugam Bay, maar dat was duur en in een luidruchtig busje. We konden niet anders dan ingaan op hun aanbod, omdat er geen Pick me beschikbaar is (te afgelegen).We beslisten dan ook om in Ella uit te stappen en daar Pickme te nemen. We hadden moderner busje en goedkopere totaalprijs.

The location is perfect for exploring Ohiya and surrounding scenic areas such as Haputhale, Welimada and Horton plains. There is a river nearby where you can bathe. The staff is very friendly and attends to any issue quickly. We especially liked the firewood heated hot water.
