The Hideaway Embleton

Lovely location, very peaceful & great views. The Hideaway is homely with facilities to brew up & help yourselves to breakfast. It was nice to have seats outside too, so we could make the most of the sunshine!! The beds were comfortable & room was well furnished.

Maybe a couple of hooks on the back of the bathroom door/ bedroom door would be good, so towels can be hung up to dry.

Great location, out of the way and lovely. Assistence from the host was great. Had the place to myself, super comfortable.

It was a touch difficult to get to, the WIFI wasnt the best.

The place was amazing. Owner was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very clean and felt like a home from home. Made to feel very welcome. The scenery was stunning. It was very homely and the beds were extremely comfortable. I can jot fault it jn any way.

The spectacular landscape, beautiful rural location set in what must be one of the most picturesque locations in England. The accommodation is superb, very comfortable and once you are settled in there are many delightful details that surprise you, such as the various ornaments , ceramics and artwork which contribute to the feel of the place. There's a spacious well furnished shared common room where guests can socialise within an informal ambience, compare travel anecdotes or just chill out with a variety of books, games, a telly and a variety of snacks, such as toast, marmalade and cereals that are made available. There's also a wonderfully peaceful garden with chairs and coffee tables so you get a great view of the sun setting while you unwind after a long day's travel. The host, Sarah is marvellous, explains everything you need to know and is especially keen to gather guest feedback, including questions or suggestions concerning alternative modern communication technology and perhaps how to find the place more easily if, like me you got lost while trying to get there!

Acknowledging that all bathrooms have their unique eccentricities, I never quite managed to solve the eternal problem of how to operate the shower at an economic and consistently warm temperature. Maybe more patience is required but one never likes to waste more water than necessary. I love the sense of relaxed informality that characterises much of what The Hideaway is about. But on occasion I found myself pondering such things as, can the windows actually open, what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency and where to deposit my room keys when departing. (...though that may well have been explained to me and as an older person I'm sometimes prone to forget things.
