we only needed the accommodation for an overnight stay on our way through further north. Although it was a little out of the way getting there, by night, we realise come the light of day we weren't actually that far from Mangawhai heads. But I booked because the place looked warm, cute and inviting and somewhat rural. what i prefer.

The RedShed seemed new and was beautifully decorated. It was small but perfectly functional and comfortable. It had a beautiful rural view.
The incinerating toilet was confronting at first but was fine once you got used to the idea!
