The house is really nicely located, right by the middle of Coniston, a minute or two from the shops and pubs, a few minutes from the start of the walk up the mountain, which is lovely, and an easy walk to the lake. Yet the street itself is very quiet. The house is really well equipped and has a very homely feel. It worked really well for us.
There were no drawbacks really. The key pick-up instructions slightly confused us to begin with as the lockbox is given as at the front of the house which, to most people, would seem to be the back! The stairs are very steep - fine for us - but something to be aware of for anyone not able to deal with steep stairs.
