Disappointing and unhygienic. Left after a night.

Modern accommodation (however with many defects and unnecessary electronics).

I honestly had a pretty bad stay here and left after night one of a six night booking: - There were termites in the wood of the doors. - Every time I took a shower, water would flood the bedroom (it seems the drainage doesn’t really work and there is no partition between bathroom and bedroom, dampening my belongings. - WiFi was really weak and I was reliant on mobile data - The road to the property is a dirt path full of stones and gravel. Even with my dirt bike, this was a pain to pass, specially after it rained. - There isn’t really any staff around and no one responds on WhatsApp. It’s fully self check-in which is quite confusing with the touch screen keypad on the door. I’ve been coming to Medewi for years and this was the first time I’ve had disappointing accommodation. There are better places to stay where you can support locals and find more comfort.

Exceptional modern clean stay

I had a wonderful stay at this homestay. The accommodation is surrounded by greenery, with rice fields and open meadows all around, yet it’s only a one minute scooter ride to restaurants and cafés. The location is also great for surfers, it’s close to several popular surf spots, making it easy to get into the water whenever you want. The rooms are brand new very quiet, you don’t hear any noise from outside, which makes it perfect for sleeping and also for getting work done. It is built in a modern style and you can tell that were used high quality materials. The workspace is excellent, equipped with a height adjustable desk and a comfortable office chair. The internet is fast, and the room has both USB and universal power outlets, which is very convenient. And most importantly the windows and doors are well sealed, so no insects get inside. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, with only the essentials provided, no unnecessary items cluttering the space. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, which is great if you prefer to cook your own meals during your stay. I also loved the smart lock system, which works with a code so you don’t need to carry a key around. Air conditioning and hot water are available, making the stay even more comfortable. Overall, a quiet, modern, and highly functional place to stay, ideal for relaxation, surfing, and remote work.
