Mixed feelings about our stay

We have very mixed feelings about this place. It’s conveniently located if you’re traveling by car and want to explore the Waitakere Ranges. The bed was also comfortable to sleep in and it was considerably cheap.

There was a list of rules about the shared use of the kitchen and bathroom (e.g. cook simple vegetarian meals, eat in your room (although there are no options to sit either than on the bed or the floor), don’t shower for longer than 4-10 minutes, etc.). From our understanding, the kitchen facilities that are pictured are shared with the other room. The description on booking.com also mentions a guest-only kitchenette. While we cooked, Varsha (host) said hi and asked what we were making. After we were done cooking, the host told us that we should not have cooked there. Quote: “If we’re staying at a hotel we also get food from outside and eat it in our room”. To clarify: this place is not a hotel, let alone did it come with the amenities that were mentioned in the description. There were no towels provided, not even to dry your hands off in the bathroom. We also couldn’t find a hairdryer. The bedsheets had stains on them and the bathroom floor was covered in hairs. If you claim that your place should be treated like a hotel room, please make sure to at least provide towels and clean sheets.
